The gameplay seems to be really slow when I play. Plus when I engage in battle for either game the speed takes a huge dip.
I already checked around here but I couldn't really find anything helpful. Plus I don't know what half of the things I'm tweaking are. Help please?

Which version of SnesTYL are you using? me or user? user will definately have speed issues... the only thing you can do to help that one is lower sound quality or flat out turn it off, unfortunately...

If you are using auto frameskip chances are that music switches and other scene switches can cause tremendous slowdowns for no more than half a second (I've noticed it in Secret of Evermore) Trying Chrono Trigger now... 60/57 FPS on the intro (inside the game, the pendulum doesn't count ) 57/47 walking around ont he world map.. 59/43 in the millenium fair when scrolling 56/36 in battle with Gato noticeable temporary slowdown when switching music tracks anywhere These are about as good as it gets for Chrono Trigger I think... For FF3 (US) 60/60 to 59/39 during the intro segment... I'd expect roughly the same numbers as Chrono Trigger, maybe slightly better But both will definately have that noticeable split-second slowdown when changing music tracks... It's a side effect of the auto frameskip.. but I find some games unplayable without it (slowing down insanely at times...)
