Hey all,
Personally, I love a challenge and learning things myself but I've reached my limit. As a last resort I registered here hoping for some help. I've had a chance to read through other topics but I did not see anything providing closure.
I was running FM 2.0 and I downgraded to 1.5... I do have both folders in the correct location and a working ROM. (Just for the record, I have re-upgraded and downgraded three times now with no change)
0.4.2me, 0.4.0me both 'crash' upon opening (flash of white then nothing; but, the screen remains on). 0.3.0me and another 0.3.x both load the first screen prompting me to press X or O but (after scrolling to the bottom) they freeze up completely.
There does not seem to be another Snes emulator quite as nice as this one for 1.5 from what I've seen... Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! Tonkie

then it's not snes9x related try reinstalling your firmware without ANY customizations (or going up to 3.4 OE for example) I suggest you go to maxconsole.net forums for further help

Yeah. Thanks for your help manias!
I'm going to purchase a slightly larger memory stick and go with 3.4 OE to see if that does the trick.

Alright, I purchased a nice 2GB-er and installed 3.40OE-A. That did not fix the problem...
I really am a fool though. I scratched the face plate a few months back and finally got around to ordering a new one. That being said, I've been using the psp without a front cover for around a week.
I did not have the 'analog stick' (as it is not seated directly on the psp) attached. Upon making an ad-hoc connection, snes9xTYL 0.4.2me booted just fine...
Thanks for all your help guys... and BTW: 0.4.2me does work just fine on 3.40OE-A. = )

Yeah... and now my analog stick won't stop scrolling constantly. Time to browse the internet for a fix.

the analog stick is probably not responsable for the scrolling but the L and R buttons, they are very sensitive to screws when you replace your faceplate, i had the same. So fiddle around with those screws near there to find a setting where they are fine

It actually was the analog stick however it did come down to sensitive screws. There had to be an exact placement which required a lot of trial and error. Now, for the first time I might add too, I can watch the snes9xTYL introduction. ...Before it either did not work or just skipped right to the ROM list. Thanks again for all your help manias. Tonkie

Somewhat off topic, but out of curiocity if you've dongraded and damaged the faceplate, how did you make sony agree to send you a new one (or did you buy a 3rd party one).
