I have a Launch PSP with 3.71 m33 running on it. I keep doing everything the instructions tell me when trying to download snes9xtyl 0.4.2. I extract the files, and then go under the 1.5 folder, since I am using a custom firmware that is basically 3.71 combined with 1.5, meaning I should pick the 1.5 version of snes9xtyl, right? Then I copy both the folders of snes9xtyl and snes9xtyl% to the PSP\Game\ folder on my memory stick. Then, I put my ROM, which is "Super Mario RPG - Legend of the Seven Stars (U) [!].smc, into the folder PSP\Game\1.5\snes9xtyl\ and then, once everything is done, I unplug my PSP.
I go under the Game tab on the main menu and click on Memory Stick. I then see Corrupted Data. I read on another thread that it is supposed to have Corrupted Data there. I cannot activate it, though, and I see no snes9xtyl emulator to activate. What am I doing wrong? I have tried downloading different versions of snes9xtyl from different sites and putting it into different folders with the ROM in different folders, and have tried downloading the ROM at different sites, but nothing is working. What am I doing wrong? Any help for this noob, would be greatly appreciated.

Wrong. 3.71 m33 doesn't have the 1.5 kernel and so cannot run the 1.5 version of EBOOTs. Try the general version, if it doesn't work try Noobz's Eloader v1.00.

*facepalm*
Thanks so much. I was wondering what a 1.50 kernel was. I just checked the site that I downloaded the CFW from, and they said a 1.50 kernel add-on will be out soon.
Thanks so much for giving this noob a moment of your time. You rock!
*updated*
I just decided to try it out on my 3.52 m33-4 PSP, which is also a launch PSP, which does have the 1.50 kernel according to other sites I have checked. I also changed the path, by making it PSP\Game\snes9xtyl\ and took out the 1.50 folder that added to the older path of the other PSP. It shows that the emulator has been installed. It has the picture next to it, and there is still a corrupted data icon under it. I tried starting up snes9xtyl and it starts, but then says "game could not be started. (8002014C)" I tried looking it up, but most people are getting this error for other things, like an infrared remote and such. Any ideas? If you feel you have helped me enough, that is alright, as I still appreciate your help greatly.

By default the GAME folder boots whatever is in it with the 3.52 kernel Either put your GAME150 folder back and put all your homebrew in there, or go into the recovery menu and set the GAME folder's default kernel to be 1.5

I checked online to find out how to set my default to use 1.50 kernel, but I can't seem to find anywhere that tells me how. What would I do in order to do that?

I would recommend just putting your GAME150 folder back.. it's what it's there for, after all

What do you mean by put my GAME150 folder back? It is still a folder on my PSP. Do you mean make that the folder in the path PSP\Game\snes9xtyl\?

the snes9xTYL folder, as well as any other folders containing homebrew, should be place in the PSP\GAME150 folder i.e. it would look like PSP\GAME150\snes9xTYL or PSP\GAME150\yourHomebrewHere
Sorry, misread your original message, thought you had deleted that folder.. in any case, it should still be there, and that's where your stuff should be going

Thank you both SO MUCH! It works perfectly. I am serious guys, thank you. I have spent the last 2 and a half days learning as much as I can about using custom firmware and emulators and to think something as stupid as putting it in the wrong folder would be my big mistake. Thanks so much for all your help. You rule!
