I am using the latest ME version with a psp slim 3.71 m33-4 and for some reason in the battle scenes it gets very very slow. this same thing also happens in chrono trigger which is very disappointing because these 2 games were one of the main reasons i wanted to put CFW on my psp. Is there any fix for these?

Try disabling the speedhacks. It sounds odd, but one of them might be causing issues.

Hmmm... enable "show FPS" and give us an idea of what kind of FPS you're getting, almost guaranteed that either of these games will suffer minor (but still very playable) slowdowns during battle scenes...

Use frameskip. Chrono Trigger is very good even in battles in the smoke (future) in rendering mode PSPacc.+acc.soft. and frameskip on auto.
