Hi everyone i'm new to the psp emulation scene and i hope to find some help here. I got the snes emulator running great with the games and everything. Now i'm trying to do the neo geo emulator and i am having problems running the games. I put the emulator in my psp and it runs good, i get to the screen where it asks me to choose a ZIP file but i don't see any roms to choose from. I noticed that the neo geo roms have a lot of bin files each a different size. I tried dragging all those files into the neo geocd% folder but that didn't work. Then I tried to put the compressed zip file in there and i saw it. I pressed circle to run it and a message came up saying "warning: compressed zip files can run very slow it is recomended that you uncompress them press circle to run or x to quit" something like that. I pressed circle and it said "fatal error has ocurred" i went to the main screen and now i don't know what to do. Can somebody please help me. Thank you.

I assume u know this emu only support neo-geo CD.. You must first create av empty folder wich u name "Roms" inside the emu folder. inside the "roms" directory you just created, u make another folder f.ex "Metalsug". and inside that folder u make another folder named "neocd.mp3" in neocd.mp3 u shall extract all audio, and the iso image you just exrtact with winrar in the "metalslug" folder. If u want to zip it... then do so. I don't. so its : Emulator-----/ Roms/ metalslug/ metalslug.zip + a folder: neocd.mp3 Hope i made this understandable for you..

sorry for asking again but i have a neo geo cd rom on computer and when i try to extract it a bar starts filling up and when it gets to like 25% completion this message comes up "you need to have the following volumes to continue extraction" then there's a browse button i can click on to look into my folders and on the bottom of the browse button it says "insert a disk with this volume and press "OK" to try again or press "cancel" to break extraction" can anyone help. I just want to take a look at the files on there.

I think you have a rar archive and it takes the games and splits them into smaller files. You need all the files to extract it. Whats the name of the file?

when you say that i need all the files to extract it, do you mean that if the game i downloaded has two parts then i need to download both part 1 and 2?

Edited by yoyofr, no roms website, ... read general rules!yup, you need'em all... but every rom is splitted in 20 MB parts. all the roms there have atleast 2 parts. some up to 6(!) but most lies about 3 parts. the games are between 30 - 100MB uncompressed. for the games that dont have BGM (games emu doesn't fully support sound), then dont put the mp3 files in "neocd.mp3" folder to save some space on your memstick.. Edit: Sorry about that one... won't happen again

okay i downloaded both part 1 and part 2 and I could see all the files. There were like 27 mp3 format files and one iso image file. I will follow the directions you posted earlier but there are a few things i don't understand about them. When I make the neocd.mp3 do i copy the mp3 format files and the iso image or do i only copy the mp3 files in there and leave the iso image file outside in the metalslug folder. Also you wrote something about a metalslug.zip folder and i did not see you write anything about a making a zip folder. Sorry for all the questions, I appreciate you helping me out.

neocd emulator/Roms/Metalslug/ metalslug.zip(this is not a folder, its the iso file extracted, and then zipped...) and in this folder(metalslug folder) you create the neocd.mp3 folder, and yes-you put all the mp3's in there. so in the metalslug folder u shall have 1 zipped game + neocd.mp3 folder filled with mp3..

Ok I am having same problems as this guy. I made a folder for roms then ss2 then neocd.mp3 put all the cd files inside and ziped the iso file and put it in the ss2 file not the mp3 folder. So it looks like this.. psp/games/neogeo/your program/roms/ss2/neocd.mp3(with mp3 files inside) + isofile zipped. get msg warning: zipped game can be very slow blah blah blah so I press 0 and get the msg "could not open IPL.TXT!" followed by "error while processing IPL.TXT!"
note that I am using neocdpsp v0.1 KXPloit boot by PSP-DEV Team to open files since I have version 1.5

You have to use winrar on the ISO file.... Extract the ISO file, THEN you compress the Files that you extracted with winzip...
