I noticed that none of the Neo-GeoCD games have that great little tune with the words "NEO-GEO MAX 330 MEGA PRO GEAR SPEC......SNK (in blue color)" message before the game starts. When I play my AES roms on MAME, Nebula, or WinKawaks I see that great message with the catchy tune.
Is that tune and message screen only with the AES roms? If so, is there a way we could make a vid of that and have it play before each game or maybe at the emu loading screen in the PSP game folder? I always thought that screen with the tune was the best. Sometimes the tune would change ever so slightly with different games...like Blue's Journey.
I know it's minor but I used to own a Neo-Geo and after I put that humungous cartridge in and powered up, I always saw and heard that screen with the jingle. Anyone?

I own a MVS system and boot up screen your refering to only happens on MVS/AES hardware/emulators. This is done when the system loads the cart/rom. If you noticed some of the new games show "NEO-GEO Gigabit.......". So yeah, its only on the AES/MVS systems and not Neo Geo CD systems/emulators. The emulator for psp is only for the NeoGeo CD system.

Thanks. Ya, I know that NeocdPSP is for CD only. I do think that familiar jingle should be at the icon for the NeoCDPSP emulator i(in the GAME folder) instead of the character montage with some music for Samauri Showdown. The icon with sound should be something more generic and not focused on one title. Actually, Metal Slug was the most popular Neo-Geo gaming franchise.

I believe the reason that jingle was never in any Neo-Geo CDs is because that jingle sound is part of the BIOS on the AES/MVS console. (If I recall correctly) and sadly Homebrew games dont have that sound on the AES because SNK owns the rights to that jingle sound.(lol its stupid I know) anyways I agree that we should have a different sound when we choose the Neo-Geo CD Emulator under the games section. But to hear the Neo-Geo Jingle I dunno.... I personally liked the jingle on a Video System game (If I recall correctly again it might have been a Hudson Soft cart like Bomberman) it had drums and stuff, it sounded a bit differently than the normal jingle sound we all know and love so much. That one was cool. I think I personally would like to hear the intro of Ninja Masters when selecting the Neo-Geo Emulator. But thats just me, Ninja Masters is my Favorite game on the Neo-Geo. KOF2003 is second, Metal Slug takes a third place or maby even fourth place on my shelf of favorite Neo Games. Now that I think about it, I honestly dont know what game I like in what order as I love all my Neo-Geo games.  |

Yeah well I almost never run neocdpsp from the psp gui anyway, usually I run it from fileassistant++, so I don't hear any sound at all.
But for the sound, you need to convert it to attac3 format, which is proprietary, binary windows-only, and since I broke my windows at the end of november, it won't change anytime soon.
Anyway it's not very important, but I agree that the original jingle for the neogeo roms (and not cds !) was cool. Oh well maybe we'll have neogeo roms emulation one day !
