Im using a Palm Centro
Dont think Im hatin on this site, or the emulation because I LOVE IT!! But there is missing information about the installation, that I had to figure it out (wasent hard or anything) so this is for people who may have the same problem as me. but here ya go:
Oh, and if this information exists somewhere, it is hidden very well.
1. The important installation page was hard to find (http://little-john.net/wiki/index.php?title=Installation_Instructions)
2. The following directorys I had to make manually /Palm/Programs/ /PALM/Programs/LJP/(system) /Palm/Programs/LJP/(system)/Roms/Save
3. On the installation info page, it quotes "Copy "ljp-stuff.zem" and the modules you want"
..........The file "ljp-mikmod.zem" ALSO needs to be moved for the emulation to work.
4. Also quoting "Upon first launch, it will create all the needed directories & register the .zem extension"
Ok this step is out of place, the directorys DO create, but only after everything else is setup, thats actually the last thing is does, because if you run the emulation thinking the directory will create itself, the emulation will run a nuts load of errors, so that is very confusing. Very.
4. The controls of the emulator needs to be set within the emulation, other wise your looking at the game with no controls
All this information I have not found anywhere, and it pretty important. So dont hate on me or anything, Im just here to inform.

It's in the readme that you download with the rest of the files... unless Metaview forgot to include it in the latest version. Also, maybe we need to make the difference between emulator cores and LJP launcher more explicit -- you need to run the launcher to generate the folders, and this can be done without any .zem files installed. ljp-mikmod.zem is only required for playing the background music in the launcher. Until the latest version(s), this was disabled (the documentation on the wiki is probably out of date). It falls under "modules you want". The installation page should be pretty easy to find: 1) go to www.little-john.net/2) click on the "Docs" link 3) click on "Installation Instructions", visible on the first screen. The actual instructions are as follows: 1) hotsync ljp.prc to your PDA. 2) run ljp.prc (this will create the directories and register .zem as a filetype). 3) without restarting your device, hotsync the .zem files you want to use - ljp-stuff.zem plus the modules you want to emulate. 4) copy your ROMs into the appropriate /Palm/Programs/LJP/(system)/Roms/ folder, using a card reader or by adding .mp3 to the end of each filename, hotsyncing, then using a program like Filez or Resco Explorer to rename the files and move them to the appropriate /Palm/Programs/LJP/(system)/Roms/ folder. 5) select the appropriate device to emulate in the LJP launcher, configure your controls and launch a game! Make sure you have enough memory or the emulator will exit with an error or reset your device. The Docs section on the web page has more details about how to overcome this.
