Hi.
I love LJP, but it seems to lock up without reason after about 45 minutes or so. I thought my Palm TX might be overheating, so I underclocked to half of its default CPU and bus clock speed. That did not help.
I am experiencing LJP locking up while using the NES emulation. Changing the settings hasn't helped. It doesn't matter whether the Palm is plugged-in or not.
When it locks up, the display freezes or goes blank and the sound plays a constant tone or buzz. I have to press the hard reset button on the back to recover.
I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to troubleshoot this frustrating issue. It is the only trouble I am having with this otherwise wonderful program.
Thanks in advance, Hal

This is actually a known bug in LJP as a whole, although 45 minutes is a bit short... I generally get 3-4 hours before LJP locks up. I thought a lot of this actually got cleared up with LJP 1.0 RC8 and later; I haven't had any 3+ hour playtimes since then to check however.

LJX-palm sometimes crashes after 1-3 minutes here. Which is one of the reasons I've not posted many updates lately ;D

I checked to make sure that my nes.zem file was not corrupted. It, the other .zem files, and ljp.prc had MD5 checksums that matched the MD5sums of a fresh download of LJP.
I have CleanStart but I'm not quite sure how I should configure it. Right now I have it set to "All Off" (no items checked). I will try holding the up button while resetting, but it seems it has odd side effects, such as disabling the 802.11 wifi.
I am using LJP 1.1 (by Henk "Metaview").

Are you using UDMH?
I generally run LJP overclocked to 416MHz (520 for SNES and Genesis). If you're using "all off" with CleanStart, then it's not likely an OS problem. Are you disabling preference panels too? It is remotely possible that a preference panel is causing the problem. It is also possible there is some minor hardware fault in your TX. I don't know of anyone who has got LJP to last more than 3 hours straight though (anyone? anyone?), so it could just be the old stack issues not playing nicely with your PDA. UDMH protects against a few of these as well as providing more heap space.

It was made to delete programs that keep the device in reset loop. Whne you are done using system rest, do a soft reset.
