I just bought my first palm phone last week. Most important thing: Mega Man 2. I can't get any of the newer versions to work. I did get RC2 to work. I'm guessing I don't know how to install software to the palmOS. I followed this guide. When I open a game, I get the error "error at opening" or the phone just resets. Any advice?

Welcome.
Which Palm Phone do you have? Which system do you try to emulate? How much memory is reported at top of the ROM list in LJP?

Metaview, thanks for the reply. I guess it was a little too late last night, I forgot to post that stuff. It's a Verizon Treo 650. OS version is 5.4.8. I have tried a Mega Man 2 NES rom and a Mega Man Extreme GBC rom. It says "Free RAM 4802K" at the top. I have RC2 installed again, but I also remember it saying something about 10% when I loaded the newer releases.

10% stack use during unzip, I guess. MegaMan2 NES does run here on LJP 1.1 on Treo 680.

Yeah 10% stack. My roms aren't zipped though. Is there an inclusive installer for any of the versions that support keyboard mapping? Or is there a tutorial for installing the binaries? That seems to be my problem.

Download LJP1.2.zip from my blog: www.metaviewsoft.de/wordpressUnpack it. Now you better have a card reader on your desktop: copy the ljp.prc to the card: /PALM/Launcher/ copy the .zem files to the card /PALM/Programs/LJP/ That's it for the executable, the ROMs go into the /PALM/Programs/LJP/xxx/ROM/ folders. xxx stand for the system.

metaview, you saved the day! What a guy! Your blog is actually how I found this forum.
EDIT: what about those programs (udmh, cleanstart). Will I need to get those for a better experience?

Cleanstart: it will save the DBCache (memory UDMH can use to increase the dynamic RAM) UDMH: it will increase the dynamic RAM, which is what you need for LJP. 4.8 MB is quite ok for everything except SNES and Genesis. for SNES and Genesis you might need 6MB free. UDMH will help you here. Cleanstart is something you might not need, but it's free and will accelerate the reset.

In the latest builds, I believe you need at least 6.4MB free to play SNES games. Genesis is between 6 and 6.3 depending on your settings IIRC.
