Psp shuts down when loading ROM

I did try finding the solution on the forum but was unable, than again I can't find a pair of socks in my drawer. Now with the problem: did try almost all the versions of snes, on my slim using custom 3.80 and 4.01, but whenever I choose a rom using eighter Sqare or circle, Snes hangs for a ten seconds or so then powers down my PSP, with a loud clicking sound. So I now I'm doing something wrong. Anyone ?

Found the solution myself. Well the roms inside zip files didn't have any extensions. After adding the smc extension to the rom files, I was able to finally run the roms.
