Yesterday a friend gave me his PSP and after 8 hours of playing around I was finally able to load this app, which as far as I tell is the best SNES emulator for PSP around.
But the question is... Is this project dead? It doesn't look like there's been any dev on it since Oct of last year.

That's right, no dev in a long time, probably won't ever be a new version from the original creators either (it'll come when it comes, as they say)
There is, however, some new builds from other developpers though... look around the forum for Ruka's build which features a few fixes and improvements.. there's also a version that was modified to run on the slim

Hello, I would like to help improving snes9x. I'm reading the source code and need some advice about which parts or files that need optimisation. thanks

I'm not sure the original devs even visit this board anymore... but who knows I seem to recall them saying that no further optimisation could be done, though... the way I heard it, in order to get better speeds out of it, you'd have to recode the entire thing from the ground up, and thus probably end up with a significantly different product then snes9xtyl! (Don't forget, this is a port of snes9x to psp, it is not a stand-alone snes emulator built specifically for the psp)

I think there are possible optimisations, because there is Ruka's build which runs a little faster. But there is no source code for that version.
