what do the (XX) mean on roms??

When I am looking at Roms, they have extensions. What does each one mean??

i.e.
Kick Off 3, European Challenge (beta)

What does beta mean?

Beta is a game that isnt a final version yet meaning its still in testing.

wow! much appreciated!! I can understand the coutries, but what exactly do these mean?

No idea, i pulled the information off wikipedia, you could google a definition or wikipedia search the terms you dont know. Most likely you will never encounter those ones though as i have never seen them myself and i have 4 dvds full of Roms for 12 different systems, and ive never seen them. Mostly country codes are the only ones you will see, with (E) (U) (J) being the most popular i think.
