So with the new Palm OS being pushed back yet again,
(http://www.smartphonetoday.com/articles/2008/9/2008-9-22-Palm-OS-II.html)
I'm really considering going over to the "dark side" and switching to windows mobile. LJP is probably the only thing that has kept me with Palm all this time and with the release of LJX it really won't matter anyway. I'm definetely anti iPhone because with the exception of GPS and the accelerometer (which I think is gay anyway) my centro can do everything that it can do. Plus playing emulators without buttons really kinda sucks anyway. The iPhone is really just a well marketed smartphone.
Anybody have any thoughts on the issue? (just thought I'd post something that didn't involve the standard "how do I install LJP?" since nobody's posted anything worthwhile in a while)

Aside from the accelerometer and GPS what can it do that any other palm smartphone can't do? And every game I've played with the accelerometer controls horribly. The only cool thing about it is when you take it to or away from your face and it turns on/off and when you turn it on the side and it switches to landscape. Not really that cool and besides the first android phone will probably have the same features as well as all the other new phones that will incorporate accelerometers. I will give you that the processor is pretty darn fast, but other new smartphones are starting to compete with that. Also I need to have buttons without lugging around a "dock". I think the emulators I've played on the iPhone are hard to control. Anyways back on topic again: as far as windows mobile goes, what emulators have you had luck with? Does PocketGBA run at a decent speed? How about their PSX emulator? Aside from MorphGear (which I've read can be pretty slow) is there anything like LJP out there? What do you think about Android or the upcoming Palm OS II?

Palm OS II is supposed to be Linux based. I've had palm since the m100, and have had every treo up to the centro (palm os), and I really wish Palm had remained more competitive and updated their OS regularly. I remember when people used to call brand new phones potential "treo killers", and now everyone is trying to come up with an "iphone killer". I've used windows mobile and like it, but I'm not sure which phone to get. I like the treo pro and the mogul. Does anyone have these and want to comment? As far as any iphone lovers go I submit the following testimony. ;D www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=iphone

I've heard pretty good things about the Treo Pro (much better than the 800w) but I'm holding out for Palm's Nova. Heck I'd probably even get an ALP device if such a thing ever came to Sprint (unlikely).

Android is gay. It only takes Java apps So no LJX for it. Anyway I'm 100% going Pandora and I hope that motivates me to finish LJX

I'm just hoping that it'll be a relatively simple matter to port programs between the various ARM Linux platforms that are being developed, so when Tinnus makes something on Pandora we can have it on Nova or ALP too.
