Im just curious, how does one get started into programming for Palm.
For instance, if i knew a guy who knew a guy who didnt know anyone and just said that for kicks who wanted to see if he could learn how to port so he could port dungeons of daggorath to palm, how would he begin that endeavor. What language is Palm? The source for the game im looking at is C++ so it says.
I have some programming knowledge and would be interested in looking at it.

Thanks for the link, i grabbed Garnet Developers Suite but not from the site in that post, it no longer exists i think (Temp 404 page was there). I ended up getting it from www.accessdevnet.com. Its downloading now. Not sure when ill get to play with it, but im hoping its a ....user friendly program because, im not a programmer by degree. Just tinker with it and i currently work for a company writing VBA code in excel and access. No idea on comparison of difficulty between the two. Most of my experience is in VB related languages If any of you wizards have and great resources such as web forums with examples and such dont hesitate to share.

Unfortunately C++ and VBA from office products are worlds different. PalmOS also goes at things in a complicated way.
You can do it though if you keep at it. Just keep reading and trying out examples and it will start to make sense.

This is true, but if you are porting C++ then you might as well code in it.

Like i said i was hoping for something a little easier to understand. I dont have the time to learn a totally new language, at least not one that is dissimilar to what i already know. If the game was in vb.net or something, i could probably dive right in on it, but this stuff for palm is 100% new, and with a kid and work, dont have the time to learn a new one. Sucks i really want this game on palm.
