I'm using a Palm TX with a Palm universal IR Keyboard, SKU Number: 3169WWZ
When i use the keyboard with LJP i am unable to configure the keys correctly the arrow keys work and A and B seem to work, but the other keys wont configure correctly, for example when i set a key to be X (in SNES) it seems to also change the render mode.
Im getting lots of other similar errors and even keys that i have not set to anything still trigger functions. It seems almost like there is a default configuration that is getting in the way.
I have reinstalled a few times and deleted all the .ini files and such.
Is there any way to fix this? I saw in another post somewhere that new keyboard types can be supported without too much trouble, mabey this keyboard model is a little different and needs to be added?

Come on guys, someone else must have a TX and a palm IR keyboard, am i the only one that finds the config to be rather erratic?
Should i expect all the keys on the keyboard to do stuff even if i have not set them?
@ Metaview Are you the one to ask about IR keyboard support? i thought i saw a mention of you being able to add new key listings for ir keyboards.
Any help would really be appreciated

Metaview is the one to ask... however, it's unlikely there will be further development work at this point. The only other IrDA keyboard type supported is for my keyboard, and it doesn't work at all. This is a known issue.

Thanks for the reply _Em, i realise that develpment has kinda stopped as far as major changes go. (d**n palm ditching garnet support in the pre, GRRRRR)
So i suppose my question now is, should the palm Universal IR keyboard work 100% correct (or close) or has support for it always been a bit buggy?
I check these forums fairly often and i don't remember ever seeing anyone post this issue and have not had any more luck with the search feature
Anyway, with the work thats already been done on wiimote support i'm gonna get a wiimote soon so i may not need the keyboard. Still, it would be nice if it worked correctly as it does have a lot more buttons

I just sent the following to metaview but i thought it might be worth posting it here as well. If anyone else has found the keyboard config to be buggy then i hope that this helps
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
just did some futher testing and found that the IR keyboard is setting keys to different commands than what they say, as follows
This was in snes, the keys on the left are what the keyboard config says, the function on the right is what it actually gets set to A = Y B = B X = render Y = select select = X quick load = L quick save = R turbo = A (not sure about the other keys and i can't seem to get keys for quick load/save, not that i need them)
i changed my config so that z x c v are my action keys with d and f as the shoulders. works well now although some keys are still stuck with functions i didn't set and can't seem to change. s for example changes screen mode no matter what i try to reasign it to.
It seems odd this has not come up before, or am i wrong?
Once again any help on this would be great (though i seem to have a functioning work around)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I used the control config screen on super metroid to work out what keys were registering as what. Well, once again, hope this helps someone

Seems like you probably have to delete your ljp.ini file, and possibly some custom game .ini files. That sort of thing happens from time to time when those files get corrupted.

Ok, i had in the past deleted my ljp .ini file but it never seemed to fix this problem. Never thought the per game configs would be interfereing.
It seems that they were, but only partly. Once i deleted all .ini files i was able to reconfigure all the keys but the function assignment order is tottaly wacked out
This list is in the same order as the keyboard config in LJP (SNES config). The left side is what LJP says its setting the right side is what the keys get set to.
a = Y b = B start = START select = X up = UP down = DOWN left = LEFT right = RIGHT qload = L qsave = R turbo = A screen mode = SCREEN MODE frame skip = FRAMESKIP Render = TURBO?------------See Below X = RENDER Y = SELECT L = NEXT PLAYER?------------See Below R = LOAD STATE panic exit = SAVE STATE next player = PANIC EXIT
I was not able to get the turbo or next player buttons working so i am really just guessing that this is what the render and left shoulder buttons are really being assigned to. I don't really use turbo or next player much though so no biggy.
Long story short, i now have a way to set the buttons to the correct keys, but it does mean i have to carry this list around with me if i want to be able to change the config.
Is there any chance that this might get fixed in the next wiiMote update, i can't imagine it would be that hard to change the config menu?
