I was surprised as I tested the emulator. All games, that I tested works without graphic-bugs actually super fx games. The only problem is, that sometimes the fps slows down like in dialogs and the world map in terranigma or mario kart. Naturally super fx games like winter gold or stunt race fx are very slow, but it works.
An other problem is, that the sound slows down, but I think it´s because sound and pfs are synchronal and I think thats good.
But why it that project now dead? I mean, that this emulator is near perfect and if someone spends a little time of it, some more games will work perfect. I also think, that it can be possible to fix the speedproblems, because there is an emulator that works also very good for nintendo DS (Good speed, but a lot of graphic bugs), but the ds is a very slow console in comparison to the psp.
Hope a developer read this and spends a little time for this emulator.

The project is dead most likely because there wasn't really any further they could.. there is only so much you can do to optimize what the engine does. Of course, the engine is actually a port of Snes9x for PC to PSP, which is why it isn't the absolute optimal it COULD be. To get the absolute best, you'd have to write a snes emulator from scratch strictly for the PSP - this is A LOT of work, and not that many people are familiar with the inner architecture of the snes (I've read up a bit on it, it's a very strange architecture to be honest)
So... Snes9xTYL is as good as it's going to get I'm afraid - better speeds would only be available in a ground-up rewrite which no one has the knowledge or time to take up...

Yes, you´ve right. Do you have Contact to developers or people which have the knowledge to develop an emulator?
Perhaps you know, that there is a N64-emulator for psp, that runs with good speed (by some games) but I think, that the snes have more fans like the N64. I hope, that there will be found some people, that can make this project finish.

I'm a developper myself Computer engineer, in fact. I haven't checked out the architecture of the N64 but I'd wager it's more "conventional" then the snes was, making it simpler to emulate... As consoles evolved, they got closer and closer to the modern PC, sharing even its CPU architectures (the Xbox is a perfect example of this - it IS a PC). The snes was created back when PCs were new and uses some pretty twisted architecture - even the roms are odd in that the game code changes while in memory (or something to that effect) I *might* be able to code an emulator myself if I had the time and knew where to find the information on it, but unfortunately I don't.. and I don't know a whole lot of people that would be willing (people are like that - they want something but won't make it themselves )
