I have been using LJP 1.2 for 3 months now on my Palm Centro and some NES games often crash like the following (and by "crash" I mean that my Centro freezes and I must perform soft reset): - Super Mario Bros.
- Super Mario Bros. 3
- Hudson's Adventure Island
- The Legend of Zelda
Are platformers / side-scrollers prone to crash? I don't use any overclocking or UDMH. Also, I occasionally soft reset my phone to obtain more RAM. Yet, the problem persists. This problem occurs mainly when I use "0" frameskip. If I put a few frame skips (like 1-3), then it won't crash. However, the only time that doesn't work is when I make 3 save states or more. Thank you for considering my question. Note: I also play a few games that don't involve horizontal scrolling very much, like Mario Bros. Balloon Fighter, and Donkey Kong. I've only had DK crash once, and that's it. In addition, those games run well at "0" frameskips.

Thank-you for the response. I can't perform the first and last suggestion because the Phone Detection is vital to me (only included in LJP 1.2) and I don't really have another device. However, maybe it is my microSD memory card. I probably remember a few instances when I unpluged it from my pc without safety removal. I am considering formatting my micro sd card and backing everything on it up by copying and pasting its contents on my computer. Do you think that will work?
Note: Crashing doesn't tend to occur in other systems, like SNES and Genesis. Probably had 2 crashes in SNES and 1 in Genesis. Also reinstalled LJP 1.2. It worked for about 30-40 min without crashing. Which is twice more time! Thank goodness.
But still, I should probably format my microsd.

I'd suggest formatting and then installing known-good NES zips (don't copy from card and then copy back after the format).

I have had the same issues with the NES emulator freezing after about an hour of play (depending on when the last soft reset occured). I have experienced this on both a 700p and my Centro, and with different memory cards, and with all NES roms I have tried. I've learned to save and soft reset after a while, but if there is a way to fix it, that would be great. SNES/GB works fine for much longer - never had a crash in those (can't speak for other systems).

Its carried through from the version I had on my 700p (forget which version, but it was definitely before the call detection feature was added) to the current 1.2 version
