First of all, I'd like to thank Yoyofr and anyone else associated with developing snes9xTYL. It's an amazingly designed piece of software as far as I'm concerned, and having all these old classics with me on long trips will be a joy.
I'm pretty late to the game when it comes to modding my PSP and enjoying homebrew programs, and as such, please have patience with my lack of knowledge on the subject. I'm using a PSP3000 running ChickHEN R2 and 5.03 Gen A custom firmware. The version of snes9xTYL I'm using is 0.4.2 ME 3.xx, I believe.
On to business. My favorite all time SNES game is Uncharted Waters New Horizons, which for the most part runs beautifully on this emulator. There are a few problems I've run into, however, and I was hoping someone from the community here could help me address them.
1 - When saving a state, many times the game freezes up and a solid tone plays. I've read about the sound issue with games, but they don't mention it freezing up like mine does. I've tried the workaround using Super Pang, but it didn't seem to improve my situation any. It is possible, I should note, to go back to the menu by pressing the PS button, but the game itself is locked up and that save state is useless from that point.
2 - Using the game's save system doesn't seem to work, either. Any time I go to load a saved game from the starting menu, I get a message from the game saying the data is damaged and I'll need to start over. Any settings from the emulator that might be causing this?
3 - Cheat codes don't work. Game Genie and etc. I'd heard something about Ruku's version having this enabled, but I was confused enough just trying to find Yoyofr's latest version of the software, and now looking at different guys' builds of the same software has me all kinds of confused.
It doesn't seem like these boards are too active, and I've no doubt it's because I'm so behind in the times, but if anyone's around and could offer some help, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks in advance!
