Does it affect the quality of emulation or the stability of LJP if the higher option 44 Khz is used? I'm asking because lately GB and GG games have been crashing randomly with this option on, and I remember using 22 Khz in the past with no problems (as it's the default choice in a newly installed LJP). The crashing is actually the game hanging, and requiring a soft-reset. Could this be the problem or something else? And which option do you use?

44 is higher quality sound but takes slightly more processing power. It's especially noticable when running Genesis or Super Nintendo games where every little speed boost is noticed (especially without overclocking).
I haven't ever experienced crashing due to my sound setting, but if 22 works for you, stick with it. With these devices' tinny speakers you hardly notice the difference anyway.
