Hi,
I'm pretty new to this scene, and I recently recieved a Zodiac 1 handheld. Can anyone give me some suggestions to help get me started? I tried setting this up on my own, but the performance was not the 50-60 fps that I was hearing about. Thanks in advance.

I think we'd need a bit more to go on; chiefly, which emulator are you having problems with? SNES? And which ROMs?

The only module I have really tried so far is the SNES one. The ROMS I used were Super Mario World, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 3(6), and Final Fantasy 2(4). I also tried Aero Fighters, but I didn't particularly expect that one to work anyway.

Well, as a rule the SNES ones don't run as fast as the NES ones. But the FF games and Chrono seem to run pretty close to 60fps (at least during the beginning segments I just tested) on my treo 650, so if anything they should run faster on your zodiac.
Are you using all the default settings on the SNES emulator? Have you tried messing around with different configurations (maybe try ASM core instead of C, or toggling frame skipping/sound options etc.)? A lot of people are also getting better results with this version if they completely delete all older LJPs and then re-install fresh. Other than that, sorry, I'm not really sure. Maybe another zodiac user could help you tweak the settings to get it to run smoother?

All right, thanks. I'll try tweaking the settings a little. THe only thing I really mixed up so far was Zodiac smoothing and the screen size, so I'll try messing around with some of the other stuff. Thanks for your help.

ESPECIALLY frameskipping, fast sprites, transparency and renderer. Oh, and sound of course.
