I noticed everyone with a treo 650 that I found on the forum reports that LJP is working fine (SNES with UDMH). I cannot get the latest (RC2) to work at all. It loads up and says "This new version should be more stable" and I click okay and it resets. I thought it was a joke at first, but alas...it was not! I followed the install instructions and everything. I have plenty of free memory. I dont know of any other apps or hacks that I have installed. Has anyone else run into this issue? What could I be doing wrong? Btw, 0.9.2T works (NES only).

Did you completely and thoroughly erase 9.2 before installing RC2? Not doing so seems to be causing a lot of people problems.
Also, If you've had your Treo for awhile it couldn't hurt to do a hard reset, and clear everything out - theres no way to otherwise defragment or anything, so, it may help. Just make sure you back up everythign first of course!

Here are a couple things to try: Make sure you are running the latest rom on your device. If you have not upgraded recently, go to www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/treo650updaterMake sure that you have some free space on your device before running UDMH. If you don't have room, it will not create more dynamic memory. Definitely do a clean install. Remove all old files and replace with the new ones.

Well, I tried RC2 first, so there was nothing to uninstall. But between RC2 and 0.9.2 I did completly uninstall (including the game modules, etc.). I have also done a hard reset, and now have over 8 megs free space on my internal memory and over 4 dynamic - with udmh running that should be plenty. Especially since I'm not even getting into LJP - it is crashing on start.
overview: Did clean install (hard reset) have latest firmware have plenty of free space no unusual programs in memory
I'm at a loss. Don't know what to try next.
Perhaps it will not work on GSM treo, but works on CDMA treo?

It does work on GSM Treo. Did you config UDMH to include LJP?

Did you check the palm site to make sure you had the latest rom?

Yes, I have the latest rom. Is anyone sucesfully running this alongside with butler? It is the only other program that shows up under "hede" when I run palminternals. Other than that I have completly run out of ideas. I can't believe I'm the only one with this problem.
Treo 650/Cingular/1.15 4megs free internal / planety on card udmh configured have done hard reset

nevermind, I have ruled out butler. In fact, running plam internals shows my speed at 110 ticks (1 second), leading me to believe absolutely nothing else is running -since thats about as fast as they get.
#*377 Just shows a fatal exception while running ljp. Again, its RIGHT AFTER I click okay on the box that says this version should be more stable. What takes place right then?

Hi all - Im new to all this 'little johhny' emulator stuff but 1st off want to thank the author for this awesome software. Amazing it will emulate so many consoles and such a tiny app.
Anyway I recently installed the latest version "1.0 RC2" and, at first, it seemed to work fine (although I hadn't installed any roms yet).
Then- I installed some Gameboy roms, only about 5 or so... works great.
Then I thought I'd install some NES roms... like ALL 900+ of them on a memory card. This is where problems arose. From then on, all I could do is start LJP, then any interface navigating ie: switching from NES to GB, or selecting 'config' or whatever... would cause a reset. I couldnt do anything at all without LJP resetting itself.
I tried everything mentioned on these lists, reinstall etc. incompatabilies with ither apps...but nothing worked (yes I did do a correct reinstall).
But eventually I DID find out how to fix it! I simply removed all my NES roms....weird.
Then I tried installing them a few at a time. Works! Installed even more (about 50) still works!
There is the occassional rom that will cause LJP to crash. Restart the Treo...and there are a few strange roms ion my NES list now--- theyre in GREEN and contain weird ASCII characters. Of course at this stage nothing works again, so.............
Move ALL the roms out of the NES roms folder, then install them back in a few at a time.
It's clear to me that this release (possible older ones as well) has a problem with either; a) large rom lists (over 100) b) does not handle corrupted roms properly c) possible naming convention problem
Definaltely one or more of those three but I javent more time to test further.
So hopefully I have provided a temp fix for those in the same boat (Ive seen a few here) and some info for the author.
Cheers, Furious.

Do the developers read this? Is there a debug version? I have UDMH enabled and I can see it shows almost 12mb free RAM when I start up LJP, but I still get a crash after it says "Infos: This version should be more stable. Crashes are now handled." boom - reset.
Crash report shows: A reset was caused on 8/28/05 at 5:16pm while running "LJP": Fatal Exception.
I would LOVE to get to the bottom of this - as this is the program I'm most excited about using!. I removed the .zem files to see if perhaps loading one of those was causing the problem - but no luck.

I'm reading.
Did you try with no roms installed on the card?

Okay, I think I've gotten to the bottom of it. I uninstalled a bunch of applications and tried again. It started working, so I reinstalled the apps one by one. I got them all installed and it still continued working. I think I did find the problem. I have a program called radio control which turns the phone on automatically after a reset. When it is enabled, and the phone is reset LJP won't work. When I turn it off and reset the phone LJP will suddenly work.
It still crashes when I exit the program, when I try to go to the genesis emulator, and when I try to run a SNES game (thats all Ive tried so far).
I downloaded another app - phoneon which does essentially the same thing (http://chbm.net/treo/treo.html#phoneon) and just tried it. Suddenly everything seems to be working, but I will keep you posted.
It's strange that everything would work with phoneon enabled, when having nothing enabled didn't work...

I too have had similar problems on my Treo 650. Everything worked great for a while but then suddenly (and this happened at the next startup after I changed some settings when running an NES game, I changed some graphic settings, switched smoothing on and some other features) any time I started LJP, every button press, command etc would cause my palm to soft reset.
Troubleshooting:
I tried removing my SD card, running LJP without the card, and then inserting the card again then running LJP again with the card and a weird "0Oo" caption showed up as being the first game in the list, I then tried running it and my palm soft reset.
What did work for me was copying the LJP app from palm internal memory to the SD card and running from there. All settings were reset, and everything runs perfectly. Maybe what caused the problem was settings data corruption?
Anyway, I would like to thank the developer(s) for making such an awesome and much needed app for the palm. And best of all its free! Thinking of donating some cash... keep up the good work man!

Yea, deleting the prefs seems to help in a situation like that where it worked and then stopped working after changing around some settings...
