Sony Clie TG50

Beta 3 works great on my Clie TG50 for both GB and NES--I even have sound using the MCA2 (Modern Clie Audio) patch.

So far Beta 5, 6, and 6b all cause fatal exception errors when launching GB and NES roms (I don't have any SNES roms to try)

I haven't tried Beta 4 yet.

Update to my post above. I've spent some more time testing every beta to date on the TG50. Things were working well with Beta 2 and 3 (except for background noise with GB emulation). Beta 4 added the ability to change screen mode, but there was about a 50-75% slowdown with the NES emulation. With Beta 5, 6, and 6b the launcher runs, but the program crashes when trying to launch a rom.

Below are the detailed results. All tests were done with the Modern Clie Audio hack both enabled and disabled.

Beta 2

NES: Full speed, perfect sound; Unable to change screen mode
GB: Full speed; Sound works but loud background noise; Unable to change screen mode

Beta 3

NES: Full speed, perfect sound; Unable to change screen mode
GB: Full speed; Sound works but loud background noise; Unable to change screen mode

Beta 4

NES: Much slower than Beta 2 & 3; Perfect sound and screen mode change works
GB: Full speed, screen mode change works; Same sound problem as Beta 2 & 3

Beta 5:

NES: Causes Fatal Exception error at ROM launch
GB: Causes Fatal Exception error at ROM launch

Beta 6:

NES: Causes Fatal Exception error at ROM launch
GB: Causes Fatal Exception error at ROM launch

Beta 6b (new):

NES: Causes Fatal Exception error at ROM launch
GB: Causes Fatal Exception error at ROM launch

It appears something "broke" after Beta 4 on the Clie. I would appreciate hearing from any other Clie users (like NX60/70) on their results.

I just read the NX60 - NX70 thread, and tried Beta 6b with the sound set to "Off" and now I'm able to start the emulator without getting a Fatal Exception (but with no sound )

Therefore the problem appears to be with the audio that was working through Beta 4--perhaps a conflict with the Sony audio API (since I ran it with sound "ON" with the MCA2 patch not enabled and it crashed)

Please confirm if you have similar issues.

As I mentioned in the Sony GC10 thread, I have been unable to get the Sony game controller to function under LJP on the TG50 [tried both Beta 3 and 6b]

Per hackit98's tip in the GC10 thread--here is how to get the GC10 to work:

It appears that the driver for the GC is extremely picky. The GC is emulated properly in LJP. The GC has the same problem in a lot of other apps. Once that you load the ROM, sometimes you have to go to the menu... press a button on the GC... and go back to the ROM. After that the GC will work.

Also, make sure that you have the latest GC drviers. I'm using v2.0E. As far as I know it is the latest version. If you aren't running that version you can download it from sonyclie.org/
