after playing ljp 1.0rc2 for 3 weeks after getting my new tx everything was fine... just minor soft resets... but today it totally killed it... there is no way to go back into the launcher... i did a soft reset... it just got stuck at the palm powered logo, the old palm logo...
i tried all kinds of reset, soft reset, hard reset, reset with up button, holding reset button for 10 seconds and chargning reset and charging hard reset and many many other methods, nothing seems to bring back the tx to life...
the battery just finished drainning, and i tried to charge it... was able to on... but still stucked on the palm powered...
just to let you guys know about this problem... ljp is still the best emulator...

I assume you was using UDMH right? That's probably UDMH's fault--not LJP's.
UDMH enables programs to write on protected areas--which is dangerous--and sometimes fail; it's even more hacky to work in NVFS devices.
If it has corrupted the ROM (it's probably flash), bad bad luck... try to get it replaced.

well i wasn't accusing ljp as the culprit, just warning that it may happen to other tx owners, btw i was using udmh 3.0... i heard that 3.2 is out but it didn't mention anything major bug fixes or fixes for tx...

No, no, no... I wasn't saying you were accusing LJP as the culprit, just warning people that it's most likely UDMH's fault just in case they bash me or something later ... ;D

Hey Tinnus... but you must take a note about it... because this is the second case about a rom corruption in a NVFS based pda ... I'm always testing the other apps (i.e. zDoom, ZHexen, ZQuake, Duke3D and Snex9xTYL) using UDMH and have not this problems with my T5 and PSP
I have not tested yet LJP... I'm afraid about this extrange behavior...

You can check a similar post for TE2 (something like "my TE2 is dead"): so, there are two devices breaking with UDMH: TE2 and TX. T5 and previous devices don't have this problem. You must return it to Palm for repair. Anyway, this is not the second case. Early or later, it seems that any TE2 running UDHM got corrupted. And so with TX, it seems. My TE2 broke two times: check the previous post for more info. UDMH developer knows it, and says its website warns the users, but i only found the notice of 2% of TE2 users having this problem, and it was not in the download page. I don't know how 2% is calculated, but I can assure you, from my searches, that the number is MUCH higher.

p.s.: the new unit came with a new version of the OS (5.4.0017 vs 5.4.0000, it think): I hoped they could have fixed this, but if they propagated the bug to the TX...

There's no way to do it on TE2 (and i think TX): every hard reset is a zero-out reset. And the procedures for Treo 650 and T5 don't work.

I had the same problem with my TE2, I tried UDMH and the palm just freeze after all kind of reset ( hard and soft ) and I also tried to drain the battery, and it doesnt work. I was able to have a new TE2 , I work for Dumoulin Audiotronics in Canada !! . But the problem is UDMH I think, because I now use my new TE2 with LPJ last version for now 6 months and it works perfectly. But, If you think that LPJ can be a problem, plz warn me Tinnus plz. I don't want to break another TE2 . Thx !!

Oh, that's what's wrong, bummer. I have had two zire 72s taken down by this bug. I've been playing final bubble bobble with the SMS emulator and when I try to save it's USUALLY OK but just one time it fills the screen with white and my palm pilot is dead. So uh, is this fixed yet, and could this ever become a problem with warpspeed? KT

Maybe you set the speed too high.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I already did that to my palm earlier. Setting the speed to high made it unusable until the batteries died (2 days), and my problem didn't go away after two weeks.

I mean, maybe you had set a too high speed and that caused the problems. Speeds too high might cause unstability and data corruption.
