1. Set LJP to 19261k in UDMH or so. 2. Depending on your model, you might be having DBCache issues... try uninstalling some hacks/background apps, and use DBCache Tool. This would be if you're using an NVFS Palm (LifeDrive, TX, T*). Of course, if you're using UDMH and are getting this error, it probably either means you're using one of these Palms, or your Palm RAM is full and you need to delete some files to free up space. RC2 should work just fine if you free up space/DBCache (depending on your model).

1. _Em's steps are valid only if you're using a NVFS device. (yeha including #1 which sometimes is needed but just for NVFS) 2. Free more storage memory. SNES might need something like 13-15MBs sometimes...

Tinnus, from what you are saying, does that mean that devices with only about 9MB free storage memory is doomed if the SNES game does require 13-15MB?
I have one more question, I was asking a question on plampowerups regarding making a program that takes some free spaces from the expension card and use it as dynamic memory, now, I know expension card will be slower than actual memory in the palm device, but I am wondering if it's possible at all, if possible, what kind of problem will happen? is it going to be slow on loading the games? or it will be slow down the in-game speed aswell? or is it going to slow down the save game status? or all 3?
I don't mean to be annoying, but lacking storage memory due to the fact that some devices lacks storage memory already will definately upset those who want to play games with LJP.
I just want to know if you think the program I'm asking about is possible at all or not, if you say no, then I guess it is impossible.
Thanks for your time.

semi: it's not that "The SNES game requires 13-15MB", the problem is that the SNES emulator needs lots of big memory chunks; which means unfragmented memory. If your memory is fragmetned you need more free space until it can find the chunks it needs. About using card as dynamic, yes, it will slow down simply everything. At least, everything that reads/writes from/to memory mapped to the card. The program you're asking about is possible. And maybe someone (not me) is already working on something like it. I can't tell you anything though

Thanks Tinnus for your answer, well, as far as I can tell, I don't think there's any programmer that's working on such program, at least not to my knowledge, maybe yes, but then again... Hopefully a skilled programmer such as yourself can make such program someday One more question to ask Tinnus, as you may have noticed already, Palm's Treo 700 is not using Palm OS anymore (Windows Mobile I believe?), if it happens that Palm abadons Palm OS, would you make a Windows Mobile version of LJP?

If I ever get a device with Windows Mobile, maybe. But calm down, Palm OS will last a lot.

Tinnus, I think it's OK to tell him something, seeing as it's posted on a public board...

_Em, if you want to say something, just say it, your reply almost looks as if I did something terribly wrong and will be warned (or banned for that matter), mind just tell me what the hec I did? if deleting my post or topic is must, that's fine with me :\

You could just read the link... basicly, it's a link to somewhere that talks about using SD cards as expanded memory. Believe me, if you did something terribly wrong, someone would have told you

Hmm, perhaps you weren't looking at who started the topic from the link you provided =\ Like I said.. I asked a question in palmpowerups before I decided to ask Tinnus too, since Tinnus is a skilled programmer too as far as I know, just wanted to ask Tinnus if he thinks if it's possible at all ;P In any case, I'll keep my little hope up and maybe even bug Tinnus to make one (just kidding Tinnus, don't take this serious )

Just because I love causing commotion... Very soon we may not have this problem on NVFS devices, with or without SD expansion memory. You see, devices like the TX have enough DBCache, but most of it is very ill used and allocated by the OS, causing bad fragmentation at reset. There will likely soon be a program that nearly clears the DBCache, and will give upwards or 12MB defragmented memory.

"There will likely soon be a program that does something people thought impossible" by JJF01 = dmitry's new app

Not the one you think...(unless you do know exactly what I am talking about) This app is going to be released free and very soon. It doesnt do anything with expansion memory...

You'll see... For the record, I cant stand waiting for TCPMP 1.0 to come out, so I am taking it out on you guys. Just to stoke you even more, this app will let NVFS devices reset in as little as 7 seconds, in addition to incredible memory increases (only in conjunction with UDMH; thats not a built in limit of the program, just a consequence of the way the OS works)

There's no article about it, currently it's something internal. Or so I think, because I'm not in the group. Hehe. I'm not stupid either though.

We find out about it through others who know about what's going on, either through being in the unmentioned groups, or knowing those who are IM is also useful Basicly, the mentioned project is another "When It's Done" thing, AFAIK.

It isnt a TEAM group project, which is why I have said as much as I have. For TEAM projects, I will only release info already released publicly by Dmitry, or if I am personally authorized. As _Em says, it is done when its done...

veggie, there's no source of information for anything. I just used my brais a little. JJF01 always talks about dmitry's new projects in that way and is also a big member of his community. Aldo dmitry's the type that does this kind of thing. Now two little important things: JJF01: don't talk about dmitry's updoming stuff, I've found out (talking with him) that he usually doesn't like that very much. veggie: try to contain yourself a little. If people let you know something is being worked on, is to inform you, and not a reason for you to get like that. Think this way: would you prefer if no one said anything? What if I released "fullspeed GBA emulation in LifeDrive" (*** HYPOTHETICAL ***), without announcing it, just the day after you sold your LD? How'd you feel? ...

As JJF01 mentioned, this particular thing isn't a TEAM (Dmitry's beta testing group) project. And yes, I was debating with myself whether it was better not to say anything at all (nobody gets their hopes up/developer doesn't get nagged) or say something (people know what's coming, someone else doesn't try to duplicate effort and develop the exact same thing). Personally, I'm really impressed with you, Tinnus. Most developers working on projects like this eventually insulate themselves from the users to some degree, to keep from getting newbie burnout As a developer, you take patience with end users to new heights!

I started as a user. I started as a newbie with this thing. I can read readme files and used google though... When something kinda irritates me, like "where do I put the roms" (read the stupid readme file) I simply don't answer. I think that helps keep a good mood. Also, I really hate when a developer is doing progress but doesn't say a word, making it so people do not know if work is being done or not. That's why I always try to give progress reports here, even if it's a "secret feature" or "I'm not doing anything" report

New news...it is a TEAM project, so I cant give any program details now, or tell you how it runs, or if it exists. I will tell you it may or may not be released free (contrary to my earlier statements), but if it isnt free, it will be worth it nonetheless.
