I've been wondering this ever since I got my zod setup with emulators. Have the speeds in emulation changed between the last version of LJZ and the latest version of LJP? And if they have, which modules?

Try it. Speeds should have increased in general since LJP is the evolution. SNES for sure, there were optimizations added for RC1.
I'd advise you to wait for the next version though as RC2 is reported to be unstable on the Zodiac.

I've found that LJZ runs Dragon Warrior better when running full speed sound than with the same settings with the latest LJP with hacks on. Final Fantasy IV and V were also better in LJZ. Ever since these findings, I've stuck with LJZ and it has been very satisfactory with most games that I've been playing. They are mostly RPG type games that I play and typically set sound on 44, frameskip 2, grafix on hardware, and no transparancies. Currently playing Secret of Mana pretty well. One game where LJP was better was Ninja Warriors. I haven't tried toomany others to compare.
