What are the possibilities for a module for Palm LJP/LJR and PSP so you can multiplay with a PSP via wifi? Is it really hard to code or is it 'doable'? I read a lot about increasing wifi possibilities on the PSP so I thought it would be really cool if it could be made. Because i thought both developers should think about it i post it in both forums, so here the PSP thread: yoyofr.proboards44.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=snes9xtyl&thread=1144272598

i think this would be a great idea but has it even been done to have multiplayer with palm wifi yet? that would be priority number one, and with all of the things that Tinnus is working on right now i'd say it would take a long time to incorporate that. i do hope it'll happen though, and know it'll happen eventually if it can.

I don't know what you mean exactly, but as example this game: www.warfareincorporated.com/ has a great multiplayer in it. Via wifi and bluetooth it works fine. The nice thing from palm that nothing needs to be 'hacked' as in the PSP (although i believe most of that is solved).

With emulation, multiplayer is done by using one device as the "host" and one as the "client". The keypresses and some timing info are sent from the client to the host, and the host's keypresses and timing info are sent back. This makes playing anything that requires precise timing over the internet pretty much impossible, but multiple devices on the same hub is doable.
As for thinking about making network play between PSP and Palm possible, the time to decide is when the system is implemented... otherwise, you'd have to re-do it all to make them work the same way.
A plus would be to use the network play protocol used in SNES9x for PC/Mac; this way you could not only play between PSP and Palm, but also with your PC (which would make a better host system... especially for 4-way Bomberman tournaments).

When I get to that stuff in LJR, I'll ask yoyo/laxer3a for the MP code in TYL so I implement the same system (with abstraction of course).
