i have been having really bad problems with shutdowns every 3-5 minutes! and that SUCKED. new version is way better. PLEASE DONT GO BACK. i know some people like it better the other way, but its almost inpossible to play a game when it keeps turning off. To stop that from occuring, edit your palm settings so it is always on. In other words, not the automatic 2min shut off. and I also dont believe It plays sms, gg yet, they are a different format then .bin and .smd (genisis format) All I can see that needs immediate attention, is the crashing when the GUI is acessed. The other minor issues I can live with.

[Clie/sound issue] I'm aware of this. On Clie, you need a patch to have sound running properly, but with my new way of doing native arm api calls instead of going through pace, I believe the patch is override. So I've to implement the standard arm -> 68k -> palmos calls in order to have it running properly. Will be done soon. Thanks for the response, yoyofr! I figured you must have changed the emu and bypassed the Clie sound APIs.

Zire 72 UDMH 1 day extended version 1.8 18megs free ram Megalauncher I used up the 7 days on the UDMH and I'm still undecided on whether to purchase this. All I used to get was a error message then soft reset using this program and last night i downloaded the v.1.8 that extends it one more day and it hard reset my Zire three times. After running the back up again I give up this program hates my Zire. Guess it will be time for a new palm with larger dynamic heap. Since UDMH kept hard reseting my Zire I had to try the different modules without it after my last restore from backup. Gameboy no problems works great. Nes the same as Gameboy. Genesis no go without UDMH Snes fatal exception with UDMH when I go to menu screen. Also I use the C core not the Asm. I can load games but can't save or exit without a soft reset without UDMH. Now the strange thing is LJP and UDMH played nicely on the 5th and 6th version of LJP. I can't remember which version UDMH was since it timed out last Friday. Keep up the good work. Your still the best.

Beta7
I've noticed another issue - LJP doesn't release RAM in SNES after you exit a game through OSD, with UDMH or without. After 2-3 launches Palm has to be reset so enough memory is available. BTW with UDMH one game can take up about 4mb of ram, without UDMH it happens only when there are any manupilations with OSD, and would take up about 100kb.
In SNES emulation OSD problems (Zire72 specific) occur only when sound is enabled.
SNES emulation works fine without UDMH, exept it wouldn't save ROM state during a game. QUICKSAVE message 'Save State? Y,N' after taping Yes nothing happens, message disappears but QUICKLOAD does not load the state.
Conclusion: for the moment on Zire72 SNES (ASM or C) works 100% only with UDMH and no sound.
Maybe all of the above problems are Zire72 specific, not sure.
GENS doesn't have any of the above problems, but a no go wihtout UDMH.

try udmh version 1.9 it might help if you were getting crashes with 1.8

With the sound change your setting to 22Khz and see if that fixes your problem. I was getting a Fatal Exception when I would try to bring up the menu. Your post gave me the idea to try the different sound settings. FFII works great for me (even without UDMH.) I hope this helps. Genisis works really good if you turn off the ZX80 sound but you don't get to hear the startup sound (Se ga.) The module is looking good though. ;D

I tried using UDMH 1.9(works great dmitry) but it did not resolve the problem with the crashing GUI, any other ideas what might cause this?

Honestly beta 7 isn't for me a good basis on T|T5, i still use the beta 6, more stable with asm and gui. But if it permite lower device to run the snes emul. in good condition,it could be a good step to merge the both

Some devices which aren't natively compatible with palmos 5 sound api and require a patch (clie, T|T, ...) won't work with current version (0.7). Next one will be ok (0.8, in a few days).
Moreover, there is currently a bug in the snes code which prevents some games to work (asm & c). I've fixed it and it will be included in ljp 0.8. (for the record, it's about calling a 16bits read/write function and a cross boundary address, like xxxFFFF). Consequences on games like mario kart is less memory available when returning to gui, sometimes it crashes too.
Power off after xx minutes of your palm shouldn't occur since I've added the needed code to prevent it.

T|E
Free RAM: 20716 kbytes with UDMH. Lightspeed and ZLauncher running.
Everything works perfect. ;D Of course SNES and Genesis don't go on full speed at low frameskips (even with Lightspeed giving 192 mHz) but it is perfectly okay for non-action RPGs, like Phantasy Star IV (GEN) and Star Ocean (SNES).
The only thing is that you HAVE to have USMH 1.9, because beta 0.7 started to crash on the launcher (prolly non-contiguous RAM).
Can't wait to see the other consoles running on my thingie. Yoyofr, the planned ones are NGP, TG16 and WS only? Not that it's not absurdely great already, but was only wondering about Game Gear, GBA and Atari.
Yoyofr and Dmitry are GODS for T|E users. Thank you both.

Zire 72 UDMH I tried using UDMH 1.9(works great dmitry) but it did not resolve the problem with the crashing GUI, any other ideas what might cause this? Try changing the sound frequency to 22Khz for the module that is crashing. This fixed the problem for me in the Snes module.

Genesis module have a better performance when runnin it in ASM.
Played Sonic The Hedgehog from Start to End with no errors. Using save states.
Snes module works with ASM o C. I choose C just to be sure. Played Actraiser with no errors. Using sram and savestates. Now playing Castlevania X. Now in level 3 with save states.
Nes module: Excellent.
GB module: Outstanding.

Overall great. I have an idea that would be nice. an option to overwrite quicksave state yes or no would be veryhelpful that small screen is really picky when wanting to quicksave or quickload. it is already mentioned but want to make sure it gets across.
Also in snes only whenever i make multiple saves in a short time it states that LJP is requesting and unavailbe chunk of memory probably just a UDMH issue but it never happens with the gennis module. as for specs using a TlE with UDMH and Lightspeed and auto frame skipping with no sound snes average fps 45 with sound average 25 sega average fps 57 with sound nes average fps 62 with sound 58
I just found a bug in snes sometimes the save state image gets frozen into the menu background but will go away after exiting the program but not if i try different roms
