I've had my treo for a week, had an 32MB SD card. I only played nes roms using LJP because I figured the SNES emulator(and others) would need more memory. So I pop in my 1GB SD card and try an SNES rom and it gives me a "cannot sys_alloc 122880 Bytes" error then "free ram: 168/85" then "cannot sys_alloc 61440 Bytes" and so on.
In the launcher, at the top where it says free ram it only has 4878K, that's only roughly 4 megs.
What's the deal?

You need UMDH, mem-unfragment and dba cleaner. Look in the thread to optimize the lifredrive for all the infos.

'Memory' isn't storage space. Doesn't matter if you buy a new SD card, it is storage space and programs use RAM, dynamic ram, wich is inside your device and you can't add normally more. Depending of your device, you'll get and amount of 'ram' (normally about 16,32 or so MB), wich is divided in storage ram and dynamic ram. There's an app called UDMH that lets you use some storage ram as dynamic, so that way programs can use it. Also if your device is NVFS(for example, if when the battery runs out your info stays there ), it may need some other things...

Well, the post "HOWTO Optimize your LD (or anything NVFS) for LJP" is sticky at the top of this board section.
