Hello I've downloaded LJPOS because a love retro-gaming I've installed correctly, launched it, created all the new directories, placing my GB/GBC rom in the right folder, I launched UMDH, i launched the program, sélecting the rom I wanted to play, I launched it, i see a black screen rolling from right to left ( I think that's normal, isn't it ? ) and ... my palm crashed and reboot ! ! I tried it again with the GBC roms , again , it failed. Could anybody please help me ? And could someone explain me why i've always nuts when i'm trying to install new stuff on my Palm ?

Hello, Just wondering, what device are you using? It could be that you don't have enough memory. Thanks

I don't think so, I know people are running it using palm tungsten E which has a 100mhz processor which is less than the tungsten C. My best advice is to free up space, using UDMH and reset your palm before running LJP. It always helps me. Good luck and tell me what happens

He said he has a Tungsten T, not C... also the T|E has a TI OMAP 126MHz--the same as the T|T.
You DO need UDMH to play anything, even GB/GBC. And 3-4MB free space at least.

I always use UMDH I have 4.1 MO free PalmSpace and 49,5MO free SDCardSpace I made what you told me : launch UMDH - load LJP - reset it - try to launch the GB rom ... and it crash down & rest my palm What's the matter do you think ?

You can try resco backup to completely save your Tungsten memory on the sdcard, then hard reset it, and load back all you datas. With this, your memory will be unfragmented and there is more luck LJP starts well with a better contiguous memory chunk.
4.1Mo is also a bit low, best results are done with 9-10 memory free on my T|X (but memory managment of T|X and T|T are really not the same).
You can also run uncache (from Dmtry also) to remove some programs who starts with you palm when you soft reset it (like some launcher or applications). Of course you can make a mistake with this program and stop the auto run of some important program, but if you saved your palm with resco backup before, you can hard reset you palm and install back all your data and running programs fast.
Good luck.
Edit : also, try different LJP configurations. Sometimes results can be weird on certain games if you use or ASM or C core, activate/deactivate sound, change graphical settings... sometimes it is as simple as that...

One thing I can tell you is that I freed more than half of the memory on my palm(~15mb), yet if I don't reset my palm, before playing LJP, it will give me an error. It took me a LOT of tries to be able to figure out the best settings and as a result, I would be able to predict I reset my palm over 100 times minimum, because of that, but it was worth it. What is the error it is giving you? Also, check the "Clean up for this app" box in UDMH for LJP. Tell me what happens. Thanks

That means you have nowhere near enough memory available. Are you sure UDMH is functional? Not expired? --UDMH has to be installed in RAM, not on the SD card.

Hey, at least he didn't open another thread wondering why his SNES crashes when he didn't read the other billion threads that say to use UDMH What version of LJP did you say you were using again? I've noticed LJP RC3 doesn't agree with my Zire....but then again, it may be that my Zire doesn't agree with LJP RC3. I think I'll open a new thread on it... Have you added LJP as a specific app in UDMH? How much memory does it display when you open it up? If you have it in UDMH's list, how much memory do you have it set for? Where were you on the night of January 1st 2007? By His Grace and For His Glory

I also have T|T
i have the same problem..and it is not UDMH, i've got it 100% functionally... but emulation doesn't work since ljp 1.0(any RC) ,it just reset, no error message.
I use LJP 0.9 and work great(the same UDMH config)...but I cant launch GenZ: Out of memory while loading PNO, but in main form says "Free Ram 9377K"...

It's still little. Maybe 0.9 works because it uses a tiny bit less memory then 1.0... You're better off with at least 14M or so.

Yes I did ... hmm it wasn't really a Hardreset, because I used FileExplorer to zip all the files that were in the RAM, the délete them. But now I've found a solution to make it work ... even it's a bit... *casse-couille* (ca évitera la censure ) 1) Install LJP or another game like Zhexen, ZdoomZ, Zquake, Duke3D (i tested it with Zhexen, Duke3D & LPJ ), UDMH, Resco BackUp 2) Launch RescoBackup, and do a backup to your mem.card 3) Now, do a hard-reset 4) Launch UDMH 5) Launch Duke3D or LPH, ZdoomZ... 6) I'm not sure it works the first time, I think I had to launch Duke3D a second time 7) ENJOY ^^ ;D 8) Launch RescoBackup, Load the backup you made, now you have all your old programs back ^^ It works perfectly for me ! I did this for Duke3D and LJP 0.7, i'll test it with JLP 0.9 , then, with RC1 & finally, RC2 PS : angel, j'ai été tenté de répondre en francais, m'enfin, je me suis dit que ma méthode aurait pu servir a d'autres Vive La France ! ( tout ce commenatire inutile & débile parce que j'avais remarqué que t'habitais a Paris xD )

Vive la monde, libre! It sounds like you might have some corrupted files on your device. When you clear them with a hard reset, they're gone, and you can run memory intensive apps. When you restore them, the problem returns. Sounds like it's about time to do a hard reset followed by a very selective restore and a re-install of your software.

Hum :/ But if i'm not hard reseting and just delet the corrupted files, i'll still have this PNO error because I'll have maximum 10MO free space ! no ?

Ah; I didn't realize THAT was the issue. In that case, your best bet is to run stuff off the SD card that doesn't preload anything into memory. You can probably ignore my corrupted files comment.

Sorry, I have not undestand what you mean I tryed my method with 0.9beta, it works perfectly, RC2 doesn't work , I think there is a problem with my palm & the programm or something like this ! Hum, and it's not possible to use GameGenie in the 0.9, right ?

Your problem seems to be that you don't have enough free memory in internal memory to run LJP. To fix this, move any applications you use that don't integrate with the OS in some way to your SD card (/Palm/Launcher/ folder). If you free up your internal memory to something more like 7MB, you will probably find that things work better.

I have 10 out of 14 free memory space, and I can't get more ! :S GameGenie doesn't work on 0.9, right ? =/ and why does 0.9 work, and not RC2 ? I still have this error, black screen comes (when you launch a rom ) ... and then Soft Reset ! ~~

10MB should be enough... not having the device in question, I don't think I can come up with any further answers. Sorry.
