Windows 95b was Chicago -- because the development team that worked on it was located in Chicago; they were on a separate development track from the Redmond guys who wrote (the buggy) 95a and 95c releases. No, I'm sure that's not right. The codename for the original first release Win95 was definitely Chicago. You still see the codename in .inf files.

My oops... the Chicago team wrote both Win95 (original release) and Win95b -- 95a and 95c were by the Redmond team.
