Hey, I'm wondering if making a backup of my palm after a hard reset with just LJP and apps to boost performance (UDMH, DBcache tool, unchache, warpspeed, etc...) then just restoring my fully loaded palm down to that bare bones set to play games is a good and more importantly SAFE way to run stuff fast. Is this dangerous to go back and forth often and flash the rom or whatever? I'm using NVBackup.

Well, personally I think it should be fine doing that to your PDA, but I wouldn't do such a thing if I were you, too much trouble, and one important thing is, removing everything other than LJP and some other needed apps will NOT boost any performance on LJP, because LJP performance depends on the PDA's CPU, not how much free memory still avaliable.
If by doing that does improve performance, I would be shocked.
Conclusion: Overclocking CPU is the best way to get better performance, though overclocking may shorten the life of your PDA, but I have been overclocking my Clie NX80V ever since I bought it, and I am still using it just fine after 5~6 years.

Well, its actually less trouble for me to do it that way. I have Zlauncher and Skinui and other hungry apps running on my palm by default and it takes a while to disable them all just for ljp. I can do it with on click though by rolling back to a freshly hard-reseted stated. Performance is better that way, I can't run genesis or snes otherwise. Warpspeed is on my palm (E2) but i'm not sure what to set it at for ljp because it seems to crash if I go over 300mhz. Any idea what setting doesn't make it crash?

So what you need is a version of UnCache that supports sets. Since Dmitry doesn't appear to be interested in doing this, maybe someone could write a quick hack that will swap out the preferences entries?

Is Dmitry doing much of anything palm-related anymore? Last time I checked his site the forums had been taken down and there haven't been any updates to his software in ages. When the Treo700p first came out I emailed him about adding support for it in Warpspeed, and he emailed me back and said it was in testing and should be released soon. Haven't heard anything about it since...

He is winding down his new software creating, but still has a few surprises up his sleeves. He is, however, very busy these days.
