Hi, I'm glad to announce LJP 1.0rc4. You can find it (together with the source) on my website. Known issues: SNES isn't updated because it doesn't link for me. If anyone find the reason (new and delete aren't defined in linking stage) please tell me. You have now the Treo keyboard support, the support for the BT gamepad and also it's much more stable. The launcher doesn't crash every there and then anymore. Enjoy and spread the word from www.metaviewsoft.de

Wow, thanks for the work I cant test it right now so here's a bunch of questions - Is the IR keyboard working ? - You said you did not updated Snes, but does it support the BT gamepad/IR Keyboard ? Thanks again, that's anyway a major update i was really waiting for !

- no IR keyboard support (yet?) - SNES doesn't support BT gamepad and Treo keyboard. I would need to be able to create the zem for it.

So do you want me to release this in the website or to wait until SNES is fixed?

My thoughts are wait until we have SNES nailed, since that seems to be one of the main reasons people are interested in LJP right now.

Any chance of fixing the Beltbar & FPS problem for Clie models? Beltbar on any module (I guess, since it doesn't work for my NES, SNES, GB) would not work and will crash the Clie instead, and FPS does not show.

Hmm... one other question: did/would you fix the launcher so that modern Palm 5-way works in it the same way the old 5-way does?

Initial tests on a zod 1 finished, and I have determined that this one update has fixed nearly all of the crashes I would experience with LJP. The only roms that crash on me now are homebrew and hacked roms. It runs as well as LJZ used to.....but with all the features of LJP!
Emulation on my zod is now fun again, thanks to Tinnus and Metaview!
*edit* By the way, I had every intention of testing this release and posting the issues I have found here... But I haven't run into any yet. I must have loaded a total 30 roms from NES, SNES, GENS, and WS, and they all work great.
Zod1 with 15.3 megs available, no UDMH.

_Em: as I use a Treo 680 and a Palm TX for testing, the buttons are all recognized now - even in the launcher :-)

So does that mean that the SNES zem is ready to be released? That would be so cool to be able to use the keyboard on the treo 700p--you guys are the best, thanks for everything thus far.

Hehe...there's a whole lot of illiterate people over at the Treocentral forums, it seems. This thread is dang funny. If they would only read the actual thread before posting!!! I mean...was I not clear enough on the SNES part? Should I have written it in all caps and bold and 34 font size? [/rant]

Any release notes? Was anything done other than getting a good compile of the SNES module? I just want to know what to concentrate on testing for this release.

I fixed the path handling. In the old way it broke when you switched the card too often between resets. You might test al systems :-) I only have ROMs for some of them.

I'll do what I can, though I only have roms for NES, GB (GBC), SNES, and Genesis.

I'll see what I can do for testing on TX - no BT or thumbboard support, but great for general testing. Won't have time to test today, however.

Yes I visit treocentral a lot, but not every single thread on the forum. Since I own a treo 700p that is almost the only forum I really read; if I had read the thread you are referring to, then there have been no need for my question(especially since my son has been in surgery/recovery the last few days, I haven't had time to read every single thing posted on treocentral--my fault), that was my purpose for visiting THIS forum. Stop acting like a jack*** with all your sarcasm, we have enough jerks in the world as it is--bye.

Woah, calm down there. That wasn't directed at anyone here, my point was just that the only people that had replied so far in that thread (at the time) were complaining that they couldn't get SNES to work, when I had stated that in the first post in the thread.
I thought it funny that people read that specific thread, where in that first post SNES was stated to be not working, installed LJP due to reading that first post, and then came back to that same thread to post their complaints about SNES not working. Thing is, they had to have read the first post to find out about the download in the first place, hence my amusement/annoyance. I would never assume that anyone should have to sift through every single thread on Treocentral just to find help with software that was announced here, and I really don't think that's what I was implying. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough, and that you seem to be having a bad day. Hope your son's doing ok.
Back on topic, the crashing problems seem to have been completely resolved, but now for some reason in front of every rom file name is 02: (example: 02:Romname.smc). Was that intentional or as part of what you did to get the path handling working better? Or a strange side effect?
NES, SNES, and GB work perfectly for me. Genesis is mostly good, however the beltbar sound button doesn't function. Instead of "Sound on" or off, it just pops up a very small notice with no text.
If I can scrounge up ROMs for the other systems I'll try and test them as well. Thanks for getting this great new build out so quickly! Fabulous work guys.

Is this supposed to officially be RC5 or just a rebuild of RC4? In-game and in the "about" section it calls it RC4. Just FYI.
Khaytsus noted over at Treocentral that SNES doesn't load saved games. I verified this on mine, and it appears it's not loading quicksaves from previous versions, but the in-game saves load fine.

Hello there, This is good news. Just wondering, I know that you guys already stated this, but there was no modification done on the SNES whatsoever, correct? Also, in terms of genesis, what were the modifications done? Is it faster? More stable? Thanks

One thing on my Clie that I noticed is when I launch GB games with RC4 module, it shows something like "GB Path" and it will stop right there instead of continue loading into the game, I have to tap the screen once or else it will not get into the game, while NES and SNES just loads into the game right away.

I will increase the number behind rc every time I release a new version, which might come every couple of days. I'm not going to change much on the emulation modules. My goal is mainly to improve the stability of the Launcher (which is quite ok now I guess) and the path finding (also improved). Next will be the handling of the small screen messages and maybe some stuff to catch wrong video settings which crash my TX from time to time (screen wider than the physical dimension).
