Please download from www.metaviewsoft.de and report back. I hope the game save/load is fixed now as well as the browsing the the ROM list. IR keyboard isn't yet implemented, sorry.

Thanks, Henk Changes I notice since RC3: - Media Location Indicator for ROMs
- Free DB Cache indicated
- Custom Categorization (was that always there and I just never noticed it?)
- 5-way works for launcher navigation
- GENS module updated to latest version
Changes I notice since RC5: - NaviTabs at the bottom work again
- Select by graffiti works again
Save states don't appear to work -- when quicksaving in gens, the system locks up. Saving state works in NES, but then locks up when loading. In SNES, it actually causes a soft reset.

Thanks for the updates. I haven't had time to try them, but will soon ;D, right after I perform a hard reset. I know that someone probably asked you this already, but when do you think you can get the IR keyboard implemented into LJP? I am just really excited, that's all. It will make playing roms on my palm that much easier. Thanks Edit: No need to apologize, you are doing this when you don't have to, so, I am sure most ppl including me are grateful .

Oh yeah; and does the categorization have anything to do with my request to only show lists for modules that exist?

Categories already were there. I didn't touched it. The load/save is unfortunately not fixed yet. Will do it now. IR keyboard is the next...

Another bug, I don't think it was there in RC5, although it might have been... In the multi-button assign, cancel doesn't cancel, it just skips to the next setting. Tested in NES.

Does RC6 have the Cyclone 84 core?

_Em: that's old, and I'm not sure if it wasn't maybe intended. vilmos: yes, now it should :-)

Just hit the home icon on SNES, and froze at Exit Emulator? screen. Probably due to low DB Cache.

Is it just me or is only the Dutch version of metaview's home reporting that rc6 is out?
If I'm not mistaken, both pages are linking to the same file. However, if you don't mind me saying, it'd probably be a good idea to put version numbers in the archive name :/
And as with rc5, I'll post my results ASAP.

From RC5:
-Everything seems the same, except for the fact that ALL THE ROM NAMES ARE IN LOWER-CASE! That annoys me even more than the numbers that precede them all! -Great, now any time I try to exit the emulator the normal way, I'm stuck at the "Exit emulator?" dialog. Have to soft-reset to get out.
A revert back to RC5 is in order, but I got rid of the RC5 files in my infinite wisdom. Not that I'm being set back much, since my X50v has pretty much taken over for emulation duties. (The T|C would take it back if you'd just fix those two issues and add IR keyboard support.)
Oh, and about this Cyclone core, you're talking about the 680x0 CPU emulator core for the Mega Drive/Genesis part of LJP, right? Well, the Genesis emulators I've found for the WM side of things use either that, or another core known as "Musashi". What's the difference?

Note: I still haven't installed rc6, yet. I'm about to.
I was wondering if you (nameless, and anyone else) want me to upload my rc5 archive.

liljuni0r: It's saying rc6 also for english, just refresh the page, you have an old one. BTW: the other language is German, which is obviously for a guy from Germany :-)
namelessplayer: lower case filenames might be optional later, but if you don't like the numbers in front of the names or anything else, well, build your own version. Nothing was changed in regards to screen tap recognization, it was not very good in the previous versions too. But now you could use your 5-way to dismiss the message.
@all: I've reupload rc6 with more load/save stuff fixed. I'll hope I've catched all old filename stuff this time.

Oh, my mistake.
Well, to reiterateand build upon what others have reported:
I too have gotten stuck at the "Exit emulator?" dialog. But LJP appears to hang for all OSD prompts (I haven't tested them all, and can't at the moment because I have to go somewhere). For example, I changed sound (via the speaker icon on the bottom toolbar) from ON --> Off ->> SIM, and once I was prompted to reset, I could choose neither yes nor no. Additionally, when I clicked the save icon, it hung when I had to choose yes or no.

First off: IT'S DEUTSCHE, not Dutch. That's German for German.
There... now that I've got that off my chest (until the next person mentions Dutch):
The "Exit Emulator" thing is definitely a bug introduced with RC6. It appears everyone's had the same problem.
Is it possible the polling for the screen taps could be sped up a notch or something?
[Edit] Scratch that... the menu screen buttons seem like they're polling TOO fast. Until it is fixed, based on what Henk said, I discovered that pressing Left on the 5-way selects Yes, and Right on the 5-way selects No.
Did some more testing, and it appears that EVERY Yes/No dialog is broken, but can be navigated with the 5-way.

Another issue, not sure when it cropped up, as I haven't tried it before: Try switching to landscape mode and tapping in the middle of the screen. Now, try to go back to the game...
...The in-game menu won't go away.
Also, I just ran the GENS module, and saves and quicksaves still aren't working -- but using the 5-way at least lets me select Yes on the quicksaves.

I wish the IRC channel would had picked up.. would be really cool to talk about that all emulator apps in real time. I'd be willing to try again if anyone is interested.

GB works but NES no longer works, it always crashes on my Treo 650. SNES doesn't work, not enough memory (my bad, too much junk installed) but it doesn't crash anymore after telling me "out of memory".

Yeesh. I apologized for the Du-- j/k German thing already. One problem I found is that the sound toolbar button doesn't work in Genesis; it just quickly brings up a blank field that quickly appears and disappears, without changing any of the sound settings. Another is that my friend told me the toolbar was black for him on his low-rez device (Zire 31) when using rc5. However, he already knew the placement of the buttons, pressed their respective locations, and they performed their desired functions which means that they must still be there, they just aren't showing up. I'm not sure if this can be fixed, but he wanted me to ask about it.

liljuni0r: I guess _Em was talking about tgwaste's repeating of saying Dutch website :-)
About the sound: there isn't any sound in Genesis at the moment at all. Was it in older releases? I don't remember, I did use LJP only a few times.
About the lowres toolbar, well, I don't know but I'll have a look if I can see something.

Genesis sound worked fine. Some games require the z80 to be turned on for sound though, like Sonic.

Genesis sound works for me just fine on my Zodiac. tested the load/save and they appear to be working just fine now. Also the yes/no dialogs are working.
When you try to exit the NES module from the osd it doesn't work. but if you hit the home key when the osd is up, it will give the exit: yes/no dialog and that works. tested Genesis, SNES, GB and they work just fine.
Vilmos: Thanks for the updated cyclone core. works like a charm.

jlp.zip still wont uncompress for me...
unzip on unix:
Archive: ljp.zip End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on the last disk(s) of this archive. unzip: cannot find zipfile directory in one of ljp.zip or ljp.zip.zip, and cannot find ljp.zip.ZIP, period.

Hello there, Just to double-check, the NES crash, save/load and the sound for genesis are now working in the newest release on metaview's website, because I don't wanna install RC6 and not be able to play NES, etc...? Thanks

Just recognized that I need to enable z80 for Sound in Genesis. Seems I might implement the Sound-button in the tool bar.
Tgwaste: send me an email, I might try to send you the file by email. Even as tar.gz.

You don't need the z80 for sound in all Genesis games, but for some you do. It all depends on the game.
Needhelp: How can you want updates to LJP then not bother to try them? I don't understand.
