I presume you're talking about GB and GBC savestates? As they're for a completely different emulator on a different OS, it is unlikely savestates will work at all. However, the sram files (for games that have them) might be compatible (don't quote me on this) Just grab the appropriate .srm file from the /SD/PALM/Programs/LJP/GB/Saves/ directory, and copy it to where they're saved in VBA. It isn't guaranteed to work, as VBA emulates a GBA, and runs GBC games in GBA mode. I'm not sure if the SRAM entries in this mode are compatible with standard GBC carts. However, to make a best attempt, use Metaview's latest build of LJP, and set the Gameboy emulator into GBA "emulation" mode. Create your SRAM file from there (in-game save feature, etc.) and try it out. Please let us know the results.

I couldnt get that working unfortunetly.
What I want to do, is take my save games (whether they be save states or in-game saves) from Pokemon Blue and transfer to any gameboy emulator on the computer, that allows you to link with others.
Would it be possible, to emulate a Gameboy link cable, using IR on a Palm Pilot? That would be a pretty sweet feature in a new LJP release.

It would be -it's in the feature requests thread. Your best bet would be to use an emulator based on the same source code -- cant remember offhand which one that would be.

does the reverse work? If I have a saved game on vba and want to play it on LJP.
I tried exporting the battery and renaming it to an .srm file but it didn't work out. Did I miss a step?
Is there any other emulator that I can run on a pc and swap save states with LJP?

Yeah swapping the files would be a nice feature. It works for SNES too, but I would prefer that Tinnus would proceed with transfering his codes to Windows-PCs. This way we could play on the go and continue if we're at home on TV screen! ^^

yeah while that would be a nice feature... Is there anything I can do now? Anyway to convert .sav to .srms... or any emulators that dump .srm files Also does LJP support .gbs for gameboy save files? Maybe a .sav to .gbs is possible? Also while searching for a conversion I found this thread forums.ngemu.com/visualboy-ad...files-srm.html, but I have no idea what it means to trim a .sav file. How would that be done?

That would be done with a hex editor -- the problem is that different emulators add different header information to the beginning of the file, describing the contents of the file. To trim the file, you remove all of the header information so that all that is left is the actual data as it would exist on the original cartridge. Everyone interested in emulation should have a good hex editor handy -- they're also good for applying cheats to your ROMs and game save files .

hmm alright downloaded a hex editor and tried comparing the two side by side, but I am so lost. They both are the same size and I can't figure out what edit out.

Is there any other emulator that I can run on a pc and swap save states with LJP? I had it work fine, playing Pokemon. All I did was change my save type to 128k, and then went to File > Export > Battery File, and you give it the following name: RomName.srm Where RomName is the EXACT name of your rom file.
