Hello everyone! After installing an older version of LJP on my TX, removing it and putting on the v1.0 RC7 (for the IR keyboard config), installing UDMH and MemoryDefragment, thanks to all the stickies on this forum, my LJP is running fine! Unforunately I just cannot figure out what the heck I am doing wrong when I configure my keyboard. I have the palm IR keyboard, and I set the config in LJP to "IR Keyb." press config, and it clicks happily through the config as I enter the buttons. However nothing is recorded in the configuration, so I cannot see if it actually worked :S Then when I load a game, the keyboard does nothing! Any suggestions? Im very lost right now Thanks, Nick

It's ok, that you see nothing in the config screen. But the keyboard should work in the game.

Unfortunately it still doesn't work in game... None of the buttons that were bound by the config work in-game (not even force quit). The dialog for binding keys goes along like they were recorded correctly though.
Im pretty sure its unrelated, but Im also having trouble starting my only rom (Super Mario World). I soft reset my TX, enable UMDH and then try to launch in LJP. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But thats another story.

Here's a question: did you disable the keyboard driver before starfting LJP? That's the only thing I can think of that you haven't dealt with already.

I normally tried it with the keyboard application status as "on", but just for kicks I set it off, the config went through the same steps as before and then in game there is no keyboard recognition... hmmm this is a tough one EDIT: Haha wow... I'm not sure if this is good news or bad news Most other SNES roms work fine with the keyboard, and run alright as long is the sound is turned off. However NeoGeo roms are laggy (maybe I should OC my Cpu... only if its really neccessary though. But keyboard still doesn't work with Super Mario All-stars + World... hmm.... All in all, I still love LJP

Does hardbutton input work with SMAS&W in your current config? It's possible that you have your config set in such a way that that game isn't receiving input commands correctly.

Hardbutton works fine with the rom! Which is why I dont understand... This was the first rom on the card, so I will try replacing it, and leaving it in .zip format this time. But everything else is great!

I think I might have just brainstormed your problem (and that of a number of other people): did you make a custom config for that game? This is done by tapping the System button, and then hitting Config. If people have these extra config files, not only will the version RC3 config files not work with later versions, but the settings will override your general settings for those games. Solution: change the custom config, or delete the .INI files from your ROMs folders.
The reason you'd have functionality in RC2 would be that that version (IIRC) did not use per-game configs, and so is not reading and applying your override config files.

Thats exactly what I did Right after posting that last night, I deleted the rom and replaced it just in-case, and when I saw the .ini I deleted that too. Worked like a charm Thanks!!

Seems we need a message somewhere to indicate LJP is using an extra config file.

Sounds like a very good idea. How easy would it be to change the colour of the System button when there's a custom config applied? Either that, or change the colour of the game text in question. -- could also put some sort of info below the console icon, or shift that down so that something could go right below the System button.
