I've searched on the forums and I can't find anything that answers the next question.
Are the save states on LJP compatible with any (linux) snes emulator, and if so, which ones?

The saved states are compatible with ZSNES. I don't know if it has a Linux version though.

LJP - SNES can only import savestate from zsnes and it does not work 100%. But the .srm files (found in the LJP/SNES/Saves directory) are compatible with both Zsnes & Snes9x. In fact it's the file corresponding to the original save options available in some games (it's the "digitalized" version of the battery backup feature of some rom cartridge).
