hi, im new here, but i already research alot here and some time ago
well i used to have a TE, LJP used to work great on it
now i have a TE2, but i simply cant run Snes on it because of dont have sufficient "max alloc" in DB cache i can only got about 8,200kb after hard reset my palm, and about 5,000kb with all my aplications on it, so i have some questions
how exactly DBcache works? i dint understand it, what kind of memory/funcition it have?
how do i have more "max alloc" free space? what it depends on?
i need more max alloc space to run my favorite snes games, but if cost me sacrifice apps like resco explover, resco view, docs to go,ptunes, zlauncher,., i think i will have to conform myself with nes gb and co. only
even with all my apps, i was used to run LJP on my old TE well, but i dont undertand well TE2 yet, since it have a non volatible memory, and as i see, a diferent way to store data

TE: All memory inside the device is actually DRAM. Some parts are "write protected" (using the MMU) but UDMH can "write enable" this parts for use in other apps (like LJP) as normal dynamic RAM. TE2: The is real DRAM and FLASH-RAM. FLASH-RAM can't be used as normal dynamic RAM, no way. The DRAM section is divided into several parts, one is the DBCache which is "write protected" and which UDMH can "write enable" for use in other apps. Another part is used for the unpacked ROM content. Another part is used as dynamic RAM. The problem is: the TE had more DRAM usable than the TE2.

Read the sticky "Lifedrive...NVFS" thread for more info. However, 8.2MB should be enough memory to run almost all SNES games under RC8.

thanks i think i undertand now so how do i get more dram free? i tried deleting a lot of aplications running in background and such but nothing..only about 6mb in max alloc
i already read, but i want to know how to get more space. the 8,2 i only got if my TE2 is clean (right after hard reset), i dont want it erase everything everytime i want to play snes, this is for casual play outside home
if i can got about 6,5 with my other programs instaled, i can at least use the RC2 again

SNES will not run (reliably) with only 6.5MB DB Cache free. As far as freeing up space, the only methods I know are: 1) UnCache 2) Uninstall everything
One thing you could do is use NVBackup to make backup sets, and switch to your minimal configuration to play LJP.

I know another way, first, if you don't you ABSOLUTELY NEED UDMH then you can either get uncache or every time you want to play it: Warm Reset(Reset with the up button held) Run UDMH Run Overclocker(if you have one) Run LJP and start to try to play SNES (Also you need RC7b,c or RC8)
