As you can see here, Access now has a Garnet emulator for the Nokia N-series tablets. They say they can run all Garnet software. Anyone feel like testing LJP? My guess is that LJX would work better with a direct port.

My guess is it won't work. As far as I know, they never said "all" Garnet software, but more along the lines of "well written" or "friendly" Garnet apps. Since LJP uses mostly direct hardware calls to the ARM processor and (I think I remember correctly) directly writing to the frame buffer for display, I doubt it'll work in the VM. If anyone actually has one and wants to prove me wrong, please do. Because there are some things I'd just like to be wrong about.
I could certainly envision a direct port of LJX though!

nope, LJP is using the documented way to talk to the API, but I also fear they haven't included an ARM emulator...

From what I've read so far, the VM has fabulous speed over previous Palm Emulators. It'd be interesting to see what kind of performance they'd get if it does run.

_Em: ok they wouldn't, an API emulation would be enough...

I wanted to add another question relevant to the title of this topic; is there a posibility that LJP/LJX will be ported to the Nokia N-Series of mobile phones, which run the Symbian OS v9.2 - S60 3rd Edition?
My Zodiac broke, and I have gotten the Nokia N95 on contract, which I think could run the current LJP emulator well considering its specifications sheet, which mentions that it has a Texas Instrument OMAP 2420 (ARM architecture 6 based) - 332 MHz CPU with PowerVR features (2D/3D accelerator), and it also has 128MB of onboard RAM.
I know that its early to be thinking about porting the emulator to the Symbian OS, but what is the general consensus surrounding such a port? It would be great, as the N95 has been revised in a black edition with 8GB of internal flash memory, and has TV-Out support which would accomodate all the old classics in a pocket.

LJP will never be ported to another platform. LJX might be ported to Symbian if you buy Tinnus a Symbian phone However, for this to work, Symbian has to already have to support SDL (I have no idea if there's an SDL port for Symbian or not). However, this isn't really relevant to the topic title, as this topic is about the PalmOS5 emulator for Nokia's Linux distro.

What he meant is that LJX would work (recompiling) with little to no modification if there was SDL in any platform, and if you buy me a device otherwise

That's a simpler way of putting it... I was trying to get you a phone though TInnus
