In the game Pokemon crystal, it is required you sync with another gameboy so certain Pokemon can evolve Can jp use the IR port and communicate with the color gameboy? Or is there way to load the sram files on the computer and edit the file? Even further, can ljp sync with another palm or ir device other than gameboy and has ljp to emulate the "syncing"?

All of those are no, except that you most likely can transfer the SRAM to your PC and somehow edit it (if you know what to edit, that is) ou load it in an emulator that supports beaming.
I might try implementing IR beaming via IR, Bluetooth or something like that, but no guarantees on that being tried, much less working.

Well, if you ever do try to implement bluetooth or ir transfer in ljp, I will happily test it out by stealing my mother's treo for 5 minutes.
IS there an emulator that supports beaming?

this is off topic but is on topic for me since I hae been playing pokemon on firestorm for a long time. The save file firestorm uses, ".sav"....can it be converted to the ljp save type? ljp cannot play the file. Can i change this y just changing the ".sav" to whatever ljp uses in fileZ? or is it not a simple as that?

Depends on the format fs saves in... try renaming it <gamefilename>.srm and sticking it in the saves folder. Savestates won't be exchangeable.

Savestates won't be exchangeable. If they were, we'd know where Firestorm's GBC code came from ;D

If they were, we'd know where Firestorm's GBC code came from ;D like you need to know the gbc code.(even though I do kind of prefer firestorm's gbc to ljp's gbc since full screen looks better) BTW, can you guys do what phoinix did? In phoinix you could move by using the stylus and dragging in a direction on the screen.

That was meant to be "we would know the code was copied from GNUboy" Wait, what's in Firestorm's fullscreen that's not in LJP? We even got the freaking filters Anyway, that stylus control thing would be possible, but we also have the virtual screen buttons and the show-on-tap GUI.

Maybe a beltbar option to toggle between them would work... I've long wanted that feature in LJP

I think he must be talking about the screen mode it already has in LJP that's broken (wide screen mode).

i hate the fact that the default is ridiculously small, some of the screen options yell incorrect screen mode. There are so many modes and configurations for zoom or fullscreen/widescreen that it makes no sense at all. I have to test each one and make a mental note in my head if it ha beltbar or not, because a HAVE to have beltbar to easily have options and see time or battery. It just seems that it will baffle a newcomer. Firestorm on the other hand...has two options:beautiful fullscreen mode or beautiful tiny mode for those who want it to be sharper(and have crossed eyes after playing for too long)

I don't see what's the problem with the LJP interface. You have 1x and 2x screen modes, and optional smoothing. All of them show the beltbar, except if you choose "Wide" in a Zodiac. The only case when the beltbar isn't visible is when you turn it off in the options or turn "fullscreen" on (which should only be enabled in HR+ devices anyway). Also the fullscreen options won't do anything (and shouldn't be visible) in a 320x320 device. Anything different from that is most likely a bug Ah, another thing: I don't think 2x without a filter is beautiful. Scale2x or LQ2X are. I can't remember if the "hide-on-non-HR-or-Zod" thing is implemented though.

It's not hidden, but a wrong screen mode is catch at update time. GB misses a 1.5x or such. 2x is too big IIRC.

GB standard resolution is only 160 pixels wide, so 2x is the correct screen mode for most devices (Treos especially). 1.5 would still leave a black border around the screen.
