You went through ALL the bugfixing steps, including reformatting your SD card?
This sounds suspiciously like a corrupted SD card to me. Either that, or your emulator paths are pointed to the wrong place somehow.

Did you do a hard reset(meaning deleting EVERYTHING) for both the zodiac and zire? Sometimes a card can be jacked up in a way that cannot be fixed by reformatting it. Try using a differnt sd card. Your'e bound to have one in your camera, gps navigator, camcorder, computer, freinds' phone or an old phone. Try quickly on several sd cards just installing ljp prc, ini, zem for one system, and rom for that system and try try try.

Nothing more than this message?

There is actually another message in the corner, but it appears with all of the roms I load. unzip OK size N kb (N = Unzip size? The roms aren't zipped) and Stack Use 10%. Then a name of the game pops up for a nano second, followed by the (in)famous, "could not load rom" message. And then it crashes. (Error # 10) Then we have one thing left. Zip them. ( or check with a different card. maybe the device wont read the card properly anymore. or even worse, the card reader in the device got jacked)

I have the same problem with Snes games, everything worked great until I guess something went wrong while using the Drive mode on my T5. I transfered a few games over, went to disconnect the drive from windows and it wouldn't let me (no files were being transfered at the time, ie no movement on the Palm screen indicating that a file was being read), after a couple minutes it let me disconnect and from then on I get the "Could not load Rom" message on Snes games.
Nes games work fine from the same card, always.
If I try to load an Snes game twice i'll get a fatal error and reset
Funny thing is if I transfer an Snes game from the card to my internal drive and run it, no problem and all the other Snes games on the card begin working also. If I remove the card and put it back in or I play other games on the Palm and go back to it, then I have to go through the file transfer again to get everything working. Sometimes transfering a file to Internal gives the Could not load rom error, but 9 out of 10 times it works and lets me play other Snes games as normal.
I tried error checking the card and it's ok. Haven't formatted yet due to laziness and the fact I can get it working with a little bit of effort. Also tried reinstalling LJP and deleting .ini files. Might try a different card and see what happens, but since it occasionally gives the same message from the Internal drive, i'm not sure if that's the problem, the rom's seem to work perfectly when they load so I don't think they're corrupted. And thinking I might have too many games on the card, I moved quite a few and still had the same error, so not sure having too many games listed was the problem either.

wait what? You can load roms off the internal on T5? Is that what drive mode does?
(In vista it automatically checks the card really fast and asks if it can reformat it if ther is something corrupt. The dialog box started appearing a few days ago, but i refuse to reformat it sine everything on the card is working perfectly...weird)

The dialog box started appearing a few days ago, but i refuse to reformat it sine everything on the card is working perfectly...weird) Drive mode is just a built in card reader for the T5. So when I turn it on, both the SD card and the Internal drive will show up in explorer as separate hard drives. The Internal drive is like a built in SD card, so it works much the same as running games off the card. I haven't reformatted yet either. Today I transfered a few games to a new SD card, same directory structure, and still got the "Could not load Rom" error. So i'm sure the card isn't the problem, and i'm also sure the Roms are ok because when they do load they work perfectly. So now i'm thinking i've tried deleting the .ini files, reinstalling LJP, replacing the .zem files. Maybe the problem is with the Palm itself? Really don't want to backup and do a hard reset but is that looking like the next step?

I backed up my SD card last night, formatted it, and replaced the data, and the games didn't work after. But this morning, I Plug it IN, and IT WORKS!!! yeah!!! Isn't that weird, i'll try that tonight and see how I go. Glad you got it working !

Yeah I gave that a try last night and didn't have any luck
So far this is what i've tried
Deleting .ini files Replacing .zems Reinstalling LJP, first deleting all of the LJP directory structures Reformatting the SD card Trying a new SD card Tried an SD card with only a couple Roms Zipping the Roms Loading the Roms from the Internal drive
This is the only way i've gotten Snes to run now, Soft reset, go into McFile and copy a rom into the Internal drive Snes Rom folder, rename the game (so I don't get mixed up) and exit McFile, and then run it in LJP as normal, game loads fine so I exit through launcher and can now load any Snes rom on the card or Internal drive without the "Could not load Rom" error. It's only a temporary fix though, if I swap cards for a while, or reset the Palm and come back to LJP i'll have to go through the process again.
I think for me what's left to do is a Hard reset, but i'd like to try a few other suggestions first mainly because backing everything up seems like a pita
Any ideas why it would work after transfering and renaming? Thinking about the .ini files again I deleted the game .ini files and the LJP .ini files, did a soft reset and tried to load a game but no luck. So i'm not sure why transfering and renaming works but refreshing the .ini files doesn't.

Also noticed something odd which I don't know if it's connected, but i'm using 1.0 RC8 and after deleting the LJP .ini file, LJP says welcome to 1.0 RC7 and if I touch the stylus where it says DB:8991/8784KB I get a catagory menu?

I take it you can't upgrade to version 1.0.1 for some reason?

Not really _Em, I just tried that tonight after I read your post. I deleted LJP and the directories including the zems and .ini files, and replaced LJP and the zems with the ones in the 1.0.1 zip.
I still had the error message "Could not load Rom", and 1.0.1 seemed to use more memory because I couldn't use my transfer and rename trick without getting an out of memory error. So for the moment i've reverted back to RC8 until I can get the roms loaded without having to open McFile first.
I liked the background music though!

What device are you using again? I presume you have UDMH installed....

They are still there. However, the code to check for all the folders is disabled. You can actually sort of do categories. Open LJP up in BIRD and make the category popup trigger usable. Then edit the list to your folders. Actually works!

Just a quick update to my problem for anyone interested The last couple days I haven't touched Snes, mostly messing around with Nes games and now the problem seems to have fixed itself. Can't think why, I added an extra 40 Nes games to the card, played several of the games and it has now decided to let me load Snes games without a problem.

Hmm. I had the same problem, and what i did was i deleted every trace of ljp off of my card and my phone, then re-downloaded it and installed the new version. Now it works just fine.
