SO I've been scouring the forums for literally hours trying to figure out what's wrong. At first, I didn't sem to have enough memory, only about 4k before I got UMHD to work, then it boosted to over 9k, which seems more than enough to run SNES games. One thing I can't figure out tho is the whole DBcache thing, because I installed all the files listed in the wiki and I just can't figure out how to clear the cache at will (I figure something about the DA... which I also can't figure out) even though I've turned off the auto setting, set it to clear DB with the safety on, and changed teh values to 19k in both UMHD and DBcache. I've also checked 'clear at softreset' in hopes that reseting it will also clear it, but to no avail. I don't know what's going on, but it runs NES fine, but when I try to load any SNES game, it has the vertical black bars run across then poof. Soft reset. PLEASE help me out here!
Also, I was wondering about overclocking it a bit... it should still be at factory settings of 334 or so.... Please give me any tips or advice you can. Note I have looked over most other similar themed forums, and Most of their suggestions I have either tried or they did not apply. I am using RC8.

Step 1: Get a copy of CleanStart from the 1src.com freeware section. This will help you set up an "LJP" profile where you can soft reset into a mode where everything is optimized for LJP. Just set up a profile with most software disabled (except for things like UDMH, whatever overclocker you're using, etc.). This way, instead of force clearing the cache, just run CleanStart, open the Profiles, select the LJP one, and do the "perform on next reset only" reset to soft reset. Run LJP and you should have around 11-13MB DB Cache free.
Step 2: Get PXA CLocker, WarpSpeed or LightSpeed. There's a free version of PXA, but it is easier to brick your TX using PXA than the other two. Don't set your CPU higher than 520MHz unless you REALLY know what you're doing.

Why are you using rc8? Everything _Em said should work for sure for a TX. (Other consoles work right? this way we can confirm that only snes is having the problem)

Turns out that I'm only getting 9.227k DB... which is just a few hundred short of getting SNES to work. SO how can I free up more DB?

Followed your instructions to the letter, and same problem. I'm getting 10k+ cache and still the SNES will just rest my palm. I'm using warpspeed, UDMH, DBCache, etc... What else can I do? NES works fine, I beat super mario bros 3 yesterday at work xD WHy not RC8? It said it was the latest stable version... what do you use, Em?

YES! It turns out that the files were being read, but they weren't .smc format, so they kept crashing the snes every time they loaded... thanks for the help tho SNES on my palm!!!

I use version 1.0.1 (also known as 1.0 bugfix 1 which is really 1.0 bugfix 2). This is the latest stable version... it's just that nobody has updated the official website yet.
