Lightspeed

for those of you have have downloaded lightspeed and found that it does not workany more go to their website www.clievideo.com and download the new version. The old beta has expired as of 2-15-2005 ;D

I've found that PXAClocker works much better than LightSpeed (at least for my T3), plus it's free, no trial period for the Lite version. It eliminated my typical T3 buzzing problem, which makes me pretty happy.

Unfortunately it's only for Intel processors.
Us TI OMAP people have to live with Lightspeed.

What settings did you change to make the buzzing go away? Sometimes the buzzing sound from my Zire72 drives me NUTS . What causes it to buzz anyways?

The backlight. This kind of light emmits a high-frequency sound (something around 20KHz) which is louder depending on who's hearing it (ie. some hear sounds up to 22 KHz, some up to 24, so more sensibility = louder noise). You can hear the same kind of noise with CRT TVs (specially big ones) -- try to turn off the sound and see if you don't still "feel" the TV's on.

That's the same for LCD screens with this kind of backlight.

Lightspeed is said to correct the buzzing noise. "- Added an option for OMAP devices which helps reduce/remove high pitch noise emitted from the screen on some units." www.clievideo.com
It did on mine (a TlE) but I don't remember pressing any option to make it quit the noise It may work different on different palms
