In the interest of increasing speed on Genesis & SNES modules, is it possible to offload the sound emulation to the sound chip, or does it have to be done by the main processor?
The Zodiac is the best device for emulation, but it is processor limited. I was just wondering if we would see a substantial speed increase when sound is enabled if the emulation was able to be done in the sound hardware?

genesis has zx80 to control the sound output, snes has spc700. Theses 2 chipsets cannot be emulated by the simple zod's audio chipset...
