about Keyboard emulation.....

Hello, i have a CliE Ux-50 and as you know the keyboard doesn't work and i think there're some other devices where it not work too...
SO i have two ideas:
- a joystick emulation on graffiti zone (just directions) and the rest on buttons...
-a joystick graphic representation on the display in overlay mode...(like Microquad a karting game)

I think it's two good solutions even it slow down perfs....

Both of your ideas would have 2 BIG drawbacks:
- Only 1 button at a time
- Game freezes for as long as the screen is pressed
