no, sorry, not yet. I removed 144 kB, but that's not enough. I have to remove around 800 kB before it can be loaded on a T5 I guess.

WOW! I had a go at 1.1 yesterday and couldn't believe how good it was. It was around 15-20 fps on my Zodiac which is an extremely playable speed. I'll be trying the new version today. Thanks!

Tried the latest version. I find the gameplay very smooth on the Zodiac. Any idea when you'll be able to fix the on-screen buttons? I did find a problem when I went near a mirror on the first level. The image was a little buggy, but when I went towards the mirror it caused a Fatal Error.

I tried Duke3D V1.3 on my Zire 72 and I had the same problem than angel. But, after installing UDMH, it works fine. Your work is really amazing !! Congratulations ! I noticed two functions which are not working : - Map - Inventory Maybe it is not implemented yet ?

angel: I see, I see. I will have to drop the compatibility with the old save games. Because I would have to decrease the size of some arrays. And this arrays are just dumped in the save game. I just have a poll running on emuboards about it.
fredc: congratulations, but map and inventory are there, but the game doesn't always recognize your commands. I haven't found a reason for it yet.

thanks again! I forgot my pda at home, but I wondered if anyone (nonzodiac users) already got the full version or atomic edition to work yet!

Oh yeah....Atomic Edition works great. The odd Fatal Exception reset, but otherwise very good speed, very smooth. Awsome on my Zire72.

Metaview:
Excellent... it's amazing to see running Duke Nukem on my T5... Remembering the old days of FPS...
But I have a little problem with the screen buttons... I can configure them, but I cannot access them on game... Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? Everytime I use an on screen button I can see a button wire layer(hope you understand me). The worst happens when I'm trying to access to the console. And this problem I have is for all your versions of ZDoomz, Zquake, zhexen and duke.

Metaview... I have figured out the problem... When you use your device in landscape mode, the on-screen button layout appears like the device is still in portrait mode, making unaccesible the three lower buttons (or screen top right, mid righ and lower right if you handle your device in portrait mode)
Just check this out... if you fix it, it would be amazing... keep the excellent work... also I notice (I hope it's not only me) that ZQuake has an FramePerSecond improvement... it runs more smootly now...

Hello, I've just installed the 1.4 version and now, the map and inventory features works fine !! Congratulations !! The only little problem I still have is that I don't know how to zoom or unzoom the map screen. I don't remember how it was done in the PC version (I thought it was with - and + key, but I'm not sure...). How can I do that ? Maybe by using the keyboard in the middle of the screen (the + key is missing) but the keyboard seems not to work in that stage of the game (It seems to work only with the save feature).

fredc: hm, I wasn't able to zoom in the PC version, but if you could check it and tell me how to zoom in the map, it would be great.

Unfortunately, I can't use Duke Nukem on my computer because I have XP, and I've already tried to install tools to make it compatible but each tool crashs my PC. But, as I remember, the map zoom function was activated by the "-" and "+" keys on the keyboard. Maybe somebody could confirm that ?

I told the same thing to metaview while testing, i remember i was able to zoom/unzoom a bit the map, but as i cant install it on my pc (like you now, i'm on xp) i cant say for sure it was a feature inside the original program...
As metaview do a port of the original source, i guess he can only add this kind of thing if it existed before...

Hey Angel and fredc try installing a dos emulator on your pc (like DosBox dosbox.sourceforge.net/download.php?main=1) and then install Duke3D (if you haven't tried this already.) I've done this with a couple of old DOS games like TIM2.

I also have the "on screen mapping" problem on the T5 in landscape mode, it seem your piece of code for lanscape also rotate the on screen mapping and this makes the 3 lowers button "out of screen" (this occure also on your doom version )

Get the SDL version of Duke3D, it runs on XP. I can't remember where it is, google for it.

For a windows port: use the JonoF version.
For the on-screen buttons in landscape (rotated) mode: do you want them rotated (means top left in portrait goes to top left in landscape), or just stretched to fill the screen (means top left in portrait becomes top right in landscape)
