I currently have a zodiac 2 (which I love to death) and my cell is a Sprint 755p. is the 755 overclocked into the ~580 mhz range the fastest palm for LJP? or is a lifeflash or TX overclocked faster?
Thanks for the imput!

The 755 has more memory and more buttons -> the better device.

BTW, it's LifeDrive and not lifeflash ;D

I'll add my vote for 755. With overclocking you can play SNES full speed with sound on almost every game and the Treo keyboard is honestly the only way to get full capability out of most SNES games. If all you're planning on playing is NES and Gameboy, it doesn't matter so much, but SNES needs a Treo.

Yeah I agree, (even though the centro can also play when maxed up to 585 mhz) the treo 755p is the best for snes.

groovy. when I said lifeflash btw, i meant a lifedrive with the microdrive replaced with compact flash. supposedly they run a lot faster than the standard one. guess I'll grab a bluetooth controller and enjoy my device.

i dont think those that use the treo and say they are getting 585 are really getting that. speedy says more like 490 (even when clocked higher). treo 680 rocks for LJ btw cause of the obvious... the keyboard.

But the Zodiac Rocks more -- a gaming LAYOUT! edit: Not the zodiac 1 -- no memory..

What's the matter with the 32MB of the Zodiac 1? Just use a card

Well, I don't recall the Zodiac being an option. . . Even though it feels a LOT more like an average gaming controller and has a nice, big screen. And Tinnus is right (as usual. . .) just use a card, it will give you more memory than anything palm has made. (not including the Lifedrive ) .... actually, they just released 32 gigabyte cards....(over my head)

palms only work up to 4gb, except Treo 680, not anything else (but 650 with a rom mod and 700 with some other file...)

Can't you install the FAT32 driver so it works with bgger cards?

That won't make it work with SDHC cards which is what all of the larger cards are.

The 755 reads SDHC cards, and I'm pretty sure the 700p can as well.

the zodiac 2 is a beautiful piece of hardware, but I'm thinking that it's time is finally starting to end... Although I use it on a regular basis still :-)

Ok mini SDHC. I was referring to the HC format, not the size and we were talking about larger in terms of storage space, not physical dimensions, right?

palms only work up to 4gb, except Treo 680, not anything else (but 650 with a rom mod and 700 with some other file...) To note, the Treo devices from 680 on do support SDHC natively (700p with latest firmware revisions). Because of the system infrastructure, it will only read 4GB at a time, but the card itself will function just fine with all storage available to the user. BTW, have to give my shoutouts and thanks to Tinnus, YoYofy, Henk, and everyone else making all of this possible (been a long time user, just not a frequent poster) (Just wish the forum software wouldn't rename the first part of my login ID to "thingy" - it's just a clothing brand... :-P)

have to give my vote to the good old Treo 650, not because its the best device out there, but because its what i got. i overclock from time to time to play snes, but mostly stick to nes because of the cant-use-two-buttons-at-the-same-time issue. but if i had my choice for gaming device, i would have to give my vote to the future palm os device that is supposed to be running linux. ps - microsoft blows
