you can keep posting in the wiki. people still go there since not everyone knows about the situation.

We can always revert your edits if we have a problem with them More likely, we'll just edit to clean things up if it is needed. Write as much as you want!

Just do redirections. I thought LJX and LJR already directed to the same place though (remember myself doing something like that a while ago).

I'm not sure if I can do that, since hans's the admin, not me. I'm deleting the newest ones right now though.
Hans: isn't there some kind of captcha for registering in the wiki? Or confirmation email? Or some other bot-free method?

he is alive but doesn't moniotr the forums anymore (or atm.) you need to email him directly. I guess one could just answer the email from wiki registration.

we could move everything over the pbwiki ... i think you can set up recaptcha there ... but im not sure, i dont use it, but know a-lot of people who have personal wiki's there. one additional thought: how does wikipedia prevent spam? cant the pages just get locked down somehow?

We're worried with bot-spam though.

We're worried with bot-spam though. i guess we'll just have to get rid of it manually(only sysops or administrators can delete pages.)

Problem with that is we don't really have enough people to watch the entire wiki. One dedicated person just isn't enough (we need people from multiple time zones so that it can be watched/edited 24/7).

Hans gave me admin status, but I just don't have time to be constantly monitoring it.
Heck, I don't even have enough time to code LJX now that classes are back ;D

hah Too many people give me admin status on their Wikis... maybe one day I'll go on a rampage Anyway, since I've got admin status, people can message me if they want moderator status and I might eventually get around to setting it up

Is there some batch delete method available? I've got roughly 500 pages to delete, and each one involves 4 clicks. I don't really have that kind of time.

Hans made 2 greasemonkey scripts to help. E-mail me with an address I can use to forward you his instructions on that.

Site admin of emulation.net. You may want to add something to your sig. (I might be able to do some sprig cleaning over the weekend[three day weekend] so add me as whatever status is needed to be able to delete)

I think you have to have the Bureaucrat tag to change user status; I've only got sysop privs. Tinnus'll have to make the call.

I wasn't sure if I wanted you to be able to change people's status all around But I'll end up doing that since I'm too lazy to do it hehe. Check again.

Samphex: you're a sysop now; use your priveleges wisely. If I see any sysop-level stuff going on other than deleting bot-trash, I'll revert it and strip your privs Not that I think this is likely. Btw Tinnus, those greasemonkey scripts work a treat -- I might write a few more (a bot blocker, for instance... select a username and have it comb the site deleting any change ever made by that user and then blocking them).

Thanks for keeping this thread going...I've been meaning to add some meaningful information to the wiki since we started it and finally did some after all these friendly "reminders".

most of my changes may be horrible changes but they are there to let others change to formal. I am simply saying this needs to be added or whatever. I'll mainly try to delete and block spam.
Edit: by the way...shouldn't we have categories?
