Ugh... believe me... it's no trick. I really can't figure it out. ( But I'm still trying. I wouldn't know how to put it back onto the hard drive if I wanted to... lol, so can't do that. I am going to try a different game. Will let you know how it turns out.

Okay.... question... Way back on yesterday's posts... _Em wrote: "Step 1: download the ljp.zip file from Metaview's weblog (not the one on little-john.net) to your PC."
This may be where I went wrong... I downloaded whatever it was on the little-john website that said "download". How do I get to the Metaview's weblog to download the other one?

Ah, well it's actually possible you're running out of space on your SD card. 4 MB is actually really tiny (unless you meant to write 4GB instead of MB). LJP alone takes up almost 2MB, and NES games can be close to 1MB each. Forget trying to put SNES games on that card, they won't fit. At best, even with nothing else on the card, you might be able to fit one or two NES or GameBoy games on it.

Oops... my bad... it is 4GB (not MB). After downloading the emulator on it yesterday, I still have 3754.9MB out of 3755.6MB... so plenty of extra space for games.

Okay... let me try to explain what I've got here... I think something is wrong. I download the game and saved it to my desktop... then I copied the game to Palm/Programs/LJP... and that's where the game sits now. After I get to the LJP folder, I don't have any /NES/Roms, so I can't put the game in whatever that is... Do you get what I'm saying? Or should I just delete everything from my SD card and start over?

Okay seriously... please don't laugh at me... how do I "unzip" the LJP-1.0rc8.zip file???

If you think you may have messed anything up, it never hurts to delete everything and start over. If you're using Windows XP, you don't even need WinZip or anything to unzip a file. Just double click on it and it'll open like any other folder. Create a new folder on your desktop and call it "temp" or "LJP" or whatever you want. Then just drag the files from the ljp.zip to the new folder and it's unzipped! Oh, and there's a newer version than RC8 (the website just hasn't been updated yet). Grab it here and use that one instead, as it has several new features and bugfixes.

Of course, without having the actual games to load to your device, getting the emulator installed will be next to useless. I think the first step is for you to learn about how emulation works on your desktop computer -- this will make working with a Palm emulator MUCH easier for you. Of course, I could be wrong... he might be happy with playing "Sack of Flour, Heart of Gold" via NES emulation... but then why not just download and play one of the many free games available for PalmOS?I guess these posts make more sense to you now

Gotcha.... *zzzziiiiippppppppp my mouth shut* won't say another word about it. *sorry* Well thank you very much to everyone who helped me get the emulator up and running! You were all a great help... even if you did laugh at me quite a bit... I think I will change my name to "SmartyDaizy" now. Thanks again... ya'll rock!

But i do have to say thanks because if it wasn't for LJP, i wouldn't have a Zodiac. You see, i found out about ljp and was playing it with the UDMH trial on the Zire72 for a while. But my trial ran out, so i was borrowing my friends Zodiac to use. Eventually i was borrowing it so much (he didn't use it) that he offered to "trade" it for my Zire. Of course i accepted :-)
BTW: _Em: your post on how to install should go somewhere...

You know, like they said it's illegal (not that the companies REALLY care nowadays, but it still is) and minly it's not allowed here, so you should really use your good sense for that. BTW I call mine Google.

That and plenty of them have been re-released for GBA and DS. They're still trying to milk money out of the oldies-but-goodies.

I really can't see someone in their right mind re-paying for 15-year-old games. I mean, it's Ok for new folks to buy SNES games for 3.99 or something, but most people that do it actually already played them before, and are effectively re-buying the stuff, just like the entire PSP-PS1 idea. At least the Wii and PSP can have homebrew/hacks to emulate games you already own

Um, no. That was like 2 years ago Nowadays you have the thing called a "custom firmware" which is basically the latest official version by Sony but hacked to enable homebrew and more stuff.

Um, no. That was like 1 year ago Nowadays you have the thing called a "pandora battery" which is basically a regular PSP battery that was soft-modified by an unlocked PSP and you can use in any one other PSP (Slims included) to install any firmware onto it.

neato! Just one last question. With all the things set up and there's maybe 2 or three roms(snes or gba...perhaps even ps1), how any megabytes will it take up? My friend refuses to buy a memory card other than the one that came with the PSP

You know the sizes of the games... SNES anre tipically 2-4MB, GBA are 4-32MB and PS1 are CDs of anything from 50 to 700MB.
Your friend won't be able to do anything with a stock 32MB card other than saving data and web browsing, really.

Yeah, that's not exactly hard, although I thought LJP created the directories? At least I'm pretty sure it creates the NES, SNES, etc ones.
