not sure... can be related to pspsdk, it seems slower in latest build can be related to the new way of handling sound, but I'm not sure since theoritically it should be faster... more to come!. Hmm.... Apparently somebody experimented with .4.1 user mode, and apparently 333mhz is not working correctly. (IE on 2.6 it seems like it is actually running at 222mhz when set to 333mhz) According to what he said, setting the snes9x_tyl to 222mhz results in very slow speeds in user mode, setting it to 266mhz results in slightly faster speeds, but setting it to 333mhz results in the same exact FPS that 222mhz gave. I tested this and found similar results.

okay for the third and last time, no idea why I seem to be the only one who is seeing this : Frame rate is instable, just played Super Turrican again, playing is absolutely not enjoyable because speed is going up and down, sound getting faster, slower, faster, also it doesn´t reach full fps (with frameskip of course). Tested on 3me, performance seems even better, frames are rock stable, but the game freezes anytimes..... aaahhhh Please give it a look, there must be some special error to be corrected easily if you know where it is, I guess...... Thank you...

Great release,
but when I have two 2.6 psp's hooked up (One has GTA, the other doesn', i switch back and forth) and I do netplay and both are linking up, for some odd reason, after 5 seconds of a blank screen, both psps turn off at the same time.
Do you know what I am doing wrong? Is it mandatory to have two GTAs?
Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I'm having the same problem Rollin. But I just get 1 PSP that turns off. I am going to try to have sound off on both systems to see if it fixes the problem.
Oh yah, Ive tested on FINAL FIGHT III AND SUPER BOMBERMAN on the latest eLoader with two 2.6 PSP.

this 333 mhz = 222 mhz would explain why things are a lot slower in standard then .3 is. hope that its simple to fix.

Yes, i knew i couldn't have been the only one. To sum up my findings: Chrono Trigger in 0.3 USER @ 333mhz = usually 55-60FPS Chrono Trigger in 0.4.1 USER @ 222mhz = around 30 FPS Chrono Trigger in 0.4.1 USER @ 266mhz = around 45 FPS Chrono Trigger in 0.4.1 USER @ 333mhz = around 30 FPS Those are all on the 2.6 machine, the 1.5 machine works perfectly. Hopefully that helps some, but something tells me the problem is deeper... ...

Alot of the speed has to do with the sound in user-mode. =\ The way that sound was handled in 0.2c seems to be better for user-mode. But, eh. I'm just throwing my opinions around. Yoyo could use someone on 2.0+. =\

I know someone else has reported this about other games, but I see that "Load State" no sound bug is more than limited to specific games. It also applies to Zelda: Link to the Past and in Earthbound. If you can fix this one bug with your ME version, I would be in absolute bliss!

I just tried Bahamut Lagoon with 4.0ME and it seems to run a lot smoother in everything except battles but when I get to a battle it slows down to under 20 fps, way too slow to enjoy. In 0.3 it would sometimes dip down to 45-50 in battles but never as low as under 20, it was still enjoyable with 0.3 but the slowdown is just too much with this new one in the battles 1.5 PSP

Yeah guys I am having the same problem with the Standard 4.1 Version.
I tried Breath of Fire II in 0.4.1 USER @ 222mhz = around 20 FPS Breath of Fire II in 0.4.1 USER @ 266mhz = around 27 FPS Breath of Fire II in 0.4.1 USER @ 333mhz = around 20 FPS
I was also using 0 frameskip and PSP accel + accru. soft.
Hope this helps with diagnosing the problem.

Here are some frame counter from 4.01 vs ME on PSP 1.5. I start the counter 5 seconds after level is loaded, played max. 2-3 minutes every game.
Settings are:
PSP accel. + accur. soft frameskip 0 333mhz vsync is off Sound 44khz
4.01 standard:
Batman Returns: 42-47 (68-72 with Sound and frame limit off) Contra III: 50-56 (drops to 30 use shield and to 20 bomb) Earthbound: 51-59 Jimmy Conners: 50-55 R-Type III: 48-60 Secret of Mana: 33-37 (Used PAL Rom, max 50 fps) Sunset Riders: 43-47 (73-77 with Sound and frame limit off) Street Fighter 2: 53-58 Super Aleste: 53-58 S. Castlevania VI: 45-53 S. Mario Kart: 25-26 (30 in pure soft mode) S. Mario World 1: 52-60 S. Mario World 2: 27-33 S. Metroid: 40-53 (In the first room only 34 fps) S. Star Wars 1: 43-48 (74-76 with Sound and frame limit off) TMN Turtles: 53-57 Tiny Toons: 48-56 Zelda III: 45-50 (PAL Rom, max. 50 fps) The most games got good speed, three have massive framedrop with sound off->on (2 are konami games)
And here the ME edition:
Batman Returns: 54-57 Contra III: 60 (drops to 47 use shield an to 30 use bomb) Earthbound: 60* Jimmy Conners: 57-59 R-Type III: 60 Secret of Mana: 42-47 (Used PAL Rom, max 50 fps) Sunset Riders: 60 Street Fighter 2: 60* Super Aleste: 60* S. Castlevania VI: 60 S. Mario Kart: 30 (35 in pure soft mode) S. Mario World 1: 60* S. Mario World 2: 28-42 S. Metroid: 50-60 (In the first room only 36 fps) S. Star Wars 1: 57-60 TMN Turtles: 60* Tiny Toons: 53-60 Zelda III: 50 (PAL Rom, max. 50 fps) Very good, only the games with special chips are slow. *without frame limit these got 75-100fps with sound!
Somebody can test the games on firmware 2.0+?
