Actually a VERY small part of games use the 6-button controller. These made to use only 3 could make no advantage of it too.
I believe it's very simple to implement nonetheless, so I'll see if I have a look at it.
(not that you'd have enough buttons anyway...)

i.e in MortalKombat 3 6 buttons are used, because there are Lowkick,Highkick,LowPunch,HighPunch,Block,Run . if you aren`t using some of these moves you cant do combos and fatalities

You can have both. Are you trying to use the Roms from nesem I don't think they will work because they are prc files but I don't know I haven't tried it. you should use the instiller so you have all the program files in the right place Also make sure you have all the Roms in the proper place. You could uses UDMH to for larger Roms. And you do have a SD card right?

gabevh3: for LJP you need to have an SD card to put your ROMs in.
mello_newf: Although the Treo 600 will most likely need UDMH, the size of the ROM doesn't make a difference since it's not stored in heap.

I'm quite new in the forum but had LJP since version 0.7 I would like to know if anyone has a Tungsten C. I have some little slowdown on the SNES module also I'm looking for ways to getting better sound out of my little speaker
Will UDMH work for me? I have 12180k of free RAM
Tungsten C+256mb SD

No, UDMH is only for low-heap devices and *DOESN'T* help performance. The Tungsten C is known to have slowdown issues when some key is pressed, unfortunately a fix for that is not known. Sound is great already. If the sound from the speaker is too bad for you, the only solution seems to be using headphones

i have prc and pdb roms which i converted from nes files. they are mostly stored in the sd card. they are located in the nesem program but not the ljp for some reason.. how do i move it to ljp or have them in both? does the file have to have a different extension than pdb or prc?

Er, none of them will work. You need them to be in NES or ZIP format, in the folder /PALM/Programs/NES/Roms. It's stated so in the readme.
NesEm also recognizes .nes files, but they have to be in a different folder (/NesEm, IIRC). Next LJP version will enable you to choose where to look for roms so you'll be able to share games between the two.

when is that version coming out? i dont have that folder.. how can i sync zip or nes files to my phone?

You create the folder. You can send the files using a card reader, the Card Export program (for Palm) or Pilot Install (for Windows)...
Again, most of the instructions are in the readme file... the rest is in the forums... use the search function before asking something.

No, you can keep LJP on RAM or card, no need to keep in both.
About the screen, check the options under "Video" or "GFX" and change "Screen Mode".

Which system? Anyway, try reinstalling. Don't forget to remove the ljp.ini file too, it's very important.

Last minute request for RC3: The Sega Genesis emulator has the problem where when you hold the keys down the frame rate slows severely, making it just about impossible to play most games. I only know C++ for Windows, but is there any way to discard key presses on the Palm? Thanks, and nice work on this!

All emulators have this problem, it's something instrinsic(sp?) to the OS. LJP does all it can to avoid that, including disabling key events and checking the hardware (almost) directly.
(I assume you have a TUngsten C? On others the slowdown is acceptable, but on the T|C it sure makes some systems impossible...)

Cool: thanks Tinnus. You're right on the T|C. I guess I'm spoiled with Direct Input under DirectX! Part of the challenge of your code. I wish I had time to help out: is it possible to compile just the ljp-gen.zem? Maybe I'll download the SDK and mess around with it. Once again thanks for your work, an impressive stack of code!
